'80s were even better when MTV was just MTV with all videos. Ratings began to fall by the '90s till MTV aired B & B which was the only reason I watched MTV. After they removed B & B I stopped watching MTV all together. It just went down hill overnight when that happened.

the frame rate here is actually too high sometimes, especially when sprites are moving across the screen, they should've lowered the frame rate, the motion is too smooth to match animations in the show. I think the show is animated at 12fps

I heard an interview with Matt and Trey and they said that before they even started on the actual South Park show, they met with Mike Judge and basically asked his blessing, as they admitted a lot of things would be similar to Beavis and Butt-Head. Mike gave them the go ahead, and has himself become a big fan of South Park, even voicing Kenny in the movie.

Yeah they did, but the Genesis version is still a really good game that required you to actually use your brain to find all the ticket pieces, the SNES, and GameGear versions were like let's do some stuff, and we will get into the concert for free with them just both being a cheap slapped together side scroller with cheap deaths. The Gameboy game that came out years later WTF where they thinking!!!!

I've always felt that point and click adventure is one of the best genres for adapting shows like this into a game, and this game looks like it's proving me right. I wish these games didn't die, this was 1999 and they perfectly captured the look and feel of an animated sitcom. Every other licensed game at this time was doing a really shit job of making 3D models to represent highly stylised 2D images and it always looked terrible. Even games that were praised for doing well like Simpsons Hit and Run do an awful job of actually achieving the look. But they could have been doing something like this the whole time.

I've heard this rumoured before, and remember suspecting it at the time. I wonder if it was due to it coming out around the time of the original TV series ending, so they wanting it rushed out before popularity dipped too much. Either way, despite it's slight shortness, still really enjoyed it, and really caught the spirit of the TV show - not many TV-licences do that nowadays, especially those in the now sparse point-and-click genre.

I really liked Virtual Stupidity way more, this game sucks. Virtual Stupidity had more characters from the show and made more references to actual episodes. That game was overall great because you could explore the world of Beavis and Butt-Head and it felt like you were playing an episode of the show. This game feels rushed and looks like it has less effort put into it. It's not even in the style of the show. The plot is also very uninteresting and doesn't give room for other characters from the show to come in. And why was there a Beavis and Butt-Head game in 1998/1999? Wasn't that show cancelled in '97? That's so awkward.

Hahaha congrats. Have fun with it, there was a load of great stuff on Win95/98 that doesn't work now. Make sure to back up your hard drive image - the first few 32-bit versions of Windows were prone to screwing themselves without warning badly enough that you'd have to reformat a bit too often

Actually, considering emulation/virtual machines, modern computers are more backwards compatible than they've ever been. I can't think of any piece of software that simply won't run given DOSBox/VirtualPC etc.

its a good chance its possible to play this in WINE, although i'd rather a Windows 98/XP virtual machine under an app like Oracle Virtualbox, or Parallels Desktop.......but if you want the real deal hardware to play this game on i'd go with at least a tower with a Socket 7 board with a Pentium 200, 32mb of Ram, 4 mb S3 Virge, Win98 installation and Sound Blaster support should be more than enough to suffice for this game

I like this game, watching it anyways. While there are games that tout a good music soundtrack throughout the adventure, i prefer more slow pace and NOT having music in places where there isn't any radio. It makes the ambience in the radio station stand out more for example.
