Ninjitsu was really hard until the end of new game. Now it’s godlike. Just have to roll the right stats on your armor. Plus I love the kusurigama

Yea, I didn't take all the time for the right rolls. I think magic is easier to use from the very start. But being the best you can be takes a lot of work.

The fireball feathers really saved me a many times. Always used fire, lightning and water feathers with blind powder. Ninjutsu and kusarigama are not simple skills, I’ve noticed I can fight much better with Tonfas and spears even not practicing a lot with them than kusarigama. Kusari feels too technical and you gotta have a lot of timing, notion of space and precision. It is still my main weapon even if it feels much harder to manage compared to the other weapons.

Nice. They nerfed magic a while ago, but then fixed it, so I'm not sure where magic ranks outside of the bare-handed build, but with bare-handed, it does a lot of DPS, so I guess the balance is there.

If u play excellent with the spear,you would know the space when attacking with kursigama. Golden Gourd boss was a good training to prevent certain attacks. If u want to farm Tochiriko for dual sword skills and smith text(Ninjutsu and omnyo high),use purification(drains enemy ki faster) and life seal(stops key regen of enemy). At this rate u can perform hidden skills when ki is drained or grapple attacks for human bosses.

once i unlocked fortifying, health stealing, ki recovery and dark realm dispersal, you basically become god and raijin water feathers also helps with building back lost health

The thing is you don't need to invest that much in omnyo to have most of the skills you need for your build. You can build full ninjutsu, invest a bit in omnyo and still get everything you need where as in the opposite, you won't be outputting much dmg if you don't go all out with ninjutsu Think the problem with omnyo is that they don't have that defining skill that ninjutsu has for dps like kunai, it's always built to complement other builds. The beauty is you pretty much always need to have omnyo in all builds.

True, but they did recently nerf the duration of all magic spells, which is pretty counter-intuitive of them to do.

I use shurikens and kunai as versatility to pick off weaker enemies and I use something I like to call the reaper harvest what you do is hit a helmeted enemy in the head and as he comes towards you hit him in the head again and as he’s down hit him with a light attack on high stance switch glaive, that makes it so easy to take out the harder hitting human enemies

Onmyo is 10x better. Its the most versatile and best stat in the game period. Its super broken. It compliments Ki, Anima, Recovery, Amrita Gauge Charge, Protection, Dispels, Crowd Control, Exploration. All buffs and debuffs in the game thats possible, you can get and do with Onmyo. It does literally almost everything. For every situation there is Onmyo thats always useful.

Ninjitsu is like easy mode - just stand back and take everything out with kunai and shurikens. But it’s really boring and unrewarding I found. Onmyo was a lot more fun but overall i found it wasn’t as effective as ninjitsu.

I agree with both statements. I don't know if anyone has made a successfully optimized Onmyo build outside of bare-handed, but bare-handed can easily net you 4-5k per hit.

With 65 dex on an enemy with no ki each fireball from the shadow art hit for 4k each, meanwhile soul release can only be used very rarely and last i checked it hit for like 5k with roughly 60 magic. So 5 k vs potantionally 12k both sort of rare cases however soul release only gets it full damage if your weapon has max fam, plus at best it takes 5 capacity it needs a serious damage buff with how rare you can actually use it then it should be a nuke button. The big cluster bomb also needs a damage pass, there are many things that needs a damage pass. I know people have said that ohh the builds you can make bla bla bla, at the end of the day the really strong builds uses 95% the same stuff. Want high damage with X weapon max out Y stat and use the same buffs/debuffs, being a mage is close to impossible especially before you have cleared the game almost twice to get a good mage set, and pretty much the same goes for making a good ninja bomb build.

Let's not forget fire familiar is what I consider to be most broken spell in the game. You can use it as assist in melee damage to easily proc burning damage. But wait there's more! You can you just use a strong melee attack to shoot the fireballs at range for well over 3k per fireball. Um lol ok Nioh 2

Yes, but I can't speak to its effectiveness. If you do that, I'd recommend keeping the poison from ninjutsu and maybe do everything else scaled to magic. They nerfed the shet outta magic recently, though.

ive been using bombs and flaming heron plus a bunch of higher level magics im only like lvl 65 but having a lot of fun plus switchglaive high stance is really powerful imo
