I think another thing to consider on the use of Amplification is actually how many buffs you're running. Depending on how many buffs you run, you might not actually be gaining much time on a buff if you're spending lots of time actually applying the buffs before entering a boss room or something. Getting 15 extra seconds on a buff doesn't much help if you're spending those 15 seconds casting other buffs. I don't know the timings for sure, but if you're running more than 3 or so buffs, you might actually get more actual usage of your buffs by running Awakening instead.
@cmoore2024 жыл бұрын
Perfect timing great content . I’m running an Ninjitsu build and really all I use is the Protection and Barrier talisman. I was just wondering if I needed to invest more than 10 pts into Magic . I guess not lol thanks

Great vid as always. In a pure damage output perspective, don't overlook Extraction talisman for Tengen Kujaku high stance buff (which is massive). And also maybe some Water talismans to debuff enemy's defence. You might wanna consider having enough onmyo capacity for all that.
@Onos4 жыл бұрын
I'd agree with that. I rely on Extraction talisman for a couple of builds I'm playing around with at the moment. This was just for the sake of testing to see if I could get more "power" by investing points

Amazing content, keep up the good work. On a side note: I know your big into testing and clarifying overall confusion in the community. For a video idea: Which soul cores work best for large/ smaller enemies, and which work best against Yokai/ humans? For example : otakumari is obviously great against large bosses, not to mention the passive bonus however, its not nearly as effective against humanoid bosses/ enemies
@Onos4 жыл бұрын
That would be an interesting topic. I can imagine a lot of people have many different opinions on this one. I'll give it some thought though definitely! Thank you for the suggestion. Love those!

Yeah, Otakemaru is effective for yokai bosses, because youkai bosses don't use block, they just dodge. Humanoid enemies have both of them and they have Ki, if they lose Ki you can do Final Blow.

I think the test might miss the effect of increased skill points in magic on your onmyo damage for direct damaging effects fired at the enemy like fire/water/lightning shot and their variations, maybe also elemental weapon buffs. Could you clarify that at all?

Hi Daniel. Yes that's correct. I ran the test mainly to check the impact for non magic builds (e.g builds which don't use the casting abilities)... Hope that makes sense?

I did full magic build,garbage in my opinion. Heard it was nerfed. So I switched to a full ninjutsu build...absolutley amazing damage. 907 power, run fire and water feathers,shuriken and kunai damage on all gear with a +10 kusarigama with poison. Absolutely wrecks anything in its path. Poison it by far most damage you can get,with the accessory and cores with melee vs poison. Super OP but still fun every gear has untouched and nin power also. I hold 12 shirokens,been testing it's very random on how many ou can get. Other day I threw 33 out before it emptied. Still had kunai and storm kunai

Difficulties higher like Demon Wise and Nioh onmyo is a must have. I personally always go 50 magic minimum as from 30 to 50 ups your buff time and gives your accessoroes an extra 100 defence each
@Onos4 жыл бұрын
Thanks an interesting point! I saw your other reply too. I will make sure to review this once the DLC excitement is out of the way. Would be interesting to see the difference. Important to note though, in this test I was only really checking out self-buffs.
@fishnutz51964 жыл бұрын
Just cause from my experience with nioh 1. Way of Samurai and Strong it wasnt an issue but in Demon wise and Nioh if you were a melee build and didnt have defence buffs and werent in heavy armor you would get 1 shot no question, also without debuffs to enemies you hit like a wet noodle on certain ones. For example starting with Way of Demon some enemies will glow red and have like 6 buffs to them and can apply debuffs to you. Also even with 30 or 40 magic your weakness or sloth would only stay on for 5 seconds. Haha i just personally think if people are wanting to tackle the next 3 difficulties and they are a melee build then not using onmyo is a death wish

I love this. The break points on some of the caps really makes me rethink pumping 70-80 Magic into every build.. 😅 I havent tested it, but the main reason I run my omyo this high isnt buff times but debuff application. Without it apllying sloth felt very short when I was farming calamity pulse. So I said screw it and pumped my magic stat/ omyo power in various ways to be over 500+. The sloth talisman started becoming very powerful. Just some extra food for thought. (Although I do tend to prioritize buffs > debuffs because a buff can be active while you take down 1+ enemies. But a debuff is only active for one enemy, and if its a boss; ailments disperse on dark realm shift.) Also a juicy juicy strat/buff I picked up yesterday. Soul purge talisman. If you complete and leave a mission before it runs out- it will not reduce your weapon familarity at all. Which lets you save it as a sort of final boss blitzer. I doubt it very pratical, but the damage is pretty crazy. Need more testing to actually give useful/correct information.. Anyways sorry for long post, ty for the work that went into getting this info for and out to us. You da best 🙏 Edit: also shin rokus guardian spirit skill is OP. Gives a hyper armor buff. Feels hilarious having hyper armor with tiny weapons
