I thought they said in the devblog that Niord was a Prinz Rupprecht that was given to Sweden after WWI, then modernized by Sweden.

The thing is, K14J just seems better in every way. More health, more guns that can use AP and HE (overmatch doesn't matter Niord only has 15i guns), hydro, stealth, speed (debatable but she's fast anyways), etc. Why would I want or use her over K14J?

Better AP DPM, better gun accuracy (only slightly though), better firing angles, bigger guns with a bit of overmatch (yes 380mm only overmatch 25, but still karl can't) and one 360° turret, better heals, better torps (halland torps instead of öster ones). So it is a side grade, neither an up or down grade. Best kind of alternative I think.

@@darkmeta372 Gotta disagree on the torps being better. the Johan has a lower reload and have a lower torp detection range (lower than the Osters too), with the range difference not even enough to make up for the worse concealment. Losing the secondary firepower and having bad HE also hurts the torps effectiveness by a decent bit since you wont be getting consistent permafires after floods like you do on the Johan. The better heal also just barely heals more than the Johans because of the lower base HP (though it is still better). Overall id say its a downgrade, but most people dont play the Johan correctly and even when played right, its definitely not meta. The Niord is a main gun focused version of the Johan with a more standard playstyle, so I wouldnt be surprised if its server statistics end up being better

well, it's guns with same name as on siegfried but with worse sigma and dispersion, better reload, and same shell velocity, fire chance and damage. i really wish weegies would stop doing this... fun fact: real life siegfried k was a ww2 railway gun based on the 380mm sk c/34 naval gun used on bismarck and tirpitz. real life ussr krohnstadt was actually supposed to use these, not 305s. sevastopol was to use these too but this weegies actually got right. well neither of the ships got finished so moot point i guess
