IIM fee for 2022 is INR 23,00,000. CA maximum 2 Lakhs with coaching fee if you are taking else, approximately 50-60K. So, anyone (especially financially challenged) and hardworking students can also achive one of the most prestigious degree (CA). As our finance minister proposing to bring more and more business partners I believe this will also ask students to pay 50 Lakh and get degree.

You get what you pay for. IIM gives top quality education to its students. The fees include your boarding and lodging, mess fees, stationery, study materials, etc. Meanwhile, ICAI has only one helpline and email for ca final exam. I have sent email 2 months ago to which I have not gotten a response to this day. ICAI hasn't taken steps to improve quality of articleship, their solution was aur ek exam daal do, which was PT assessment. If people are willing to pay, what is your problem? Students are increasingly turning to ACCA and CPA. Why not let the Government come up with local competition?

If you have ever pursued CA, you would know that our study materials are so poorly drafted that for 4 subjects at final level, they are practically useless. You have to purchase an author's book and Question Bank, out of pocket. I have been a student of ICAI and ACCA. The difference is stark. If you don't believe me purchase the study materials and compare. I don't think you are associated to CA profession, because even foundation students know this.

When I was in my Inter CA, I had this thought from that time, that most of these small and Medium firm CAs are running their offices mostly because they have the Govt's blessings on their head. In the form of compulsory Audits, certifications, valuations, etc to be done by a CA only. I had always thought, what if suddenly Govt does not make it mandatory, then what? But people around me used to say arey that will never happen. However now, it is happening. Which is why, practicing CAs should now also focus on non mandatory things. Like giving some value addition to their clients, assurance services, advisory services, business analysis, professional opinions, litigation assistance etc They should improve their service and strengthen their firms. CAs doing jobs should also gain knowledge, keep improving and upgrading their skills, focus on their core areas. If they do all this then why do they have to fear the competition from IIA? ICAI has been asserting monopoly from 1949. Now times have changed, so it should also change its ways

Uh know what in terms of accountant and auditor definition icai is having competition from ICMAI, which they are also requesting the govts since 15 yrs to include them, now indirect tax gst had recognised cost accountant as they can do audits, now only It act and company act are there, which the govt will liberalise the cumpulsory statutory things in upcoming yrs which will furthermore decrease the need of auditors. Competing based on audit power or with the intention to create monopoly over audit or certified works is a baseless thing in upcoming yrs.
