It'd be cool if you could get an interview with Krist.

No, it would be cool if he could get an interview with Kurt, haha. However, I do have Krist's address. It's actually not hard to find, although, his house is insane in the middle of woods.

I live in Seattle. My Daughter and I drive through Aberdeen every year, for the 4th of July. You need to drive through Aberdeen to get to Ocean Shores. Pacific Beaches. This video hits home for me. RIP Kurt.

As a big Nirvana fan from Russia, I must say your videos are truely amazing. I've seen other vids on Aberdeen, but they lack your level of research. Keep up the good work! On a side note though, it's a shame they don't have a proper museum of Kurt that could draw even more people into town and actually help its economy I guess.

Thanks 4 this. I actually like Aberdeen - decent skatepark, great greasy diners, super close to Olympia, not far from the Hoh, & Quinault Rainforests, reservations. Played there once, in maybe 2007? @ an Elks Lodge, w/ a metal band...was an awesome show

I have been watching for several months but only just now felt compelled to comment. Being a big Melvins fan as well made this an especially interesting video for me. It was cool to know more about Krist and that he lived so close by as well. All in all this is some fresh and amusing content.

One song I wish had gotten a more professional studio treatment is “Buffy’s Pregnant” from the Fecal Matter demos. It’s a good song and I think could have been a potential fan favorite, if not single.

There’s actually a lot of pretty amazing art in the alleys of Aberdeen. Some definitely referencing kurt or actually being of kurt. I would also recommend checking out the Morck hotel. Abandoned now, but kurt would crash in the doorways and whatnot when he was homeless. He also would visit the hotel as a youth with friends to have an old alcoholic buy him and his friends booze when the hotel had been converted to lo-income housing. I mention the hotel because its very interesting that the hotel’s motto was actually COME AS YOU ARE. It is believed this is where kurt got the title of the song he would later write.

I'd imagine that having one of the biggest and most well known rockstars and band in the world being from your small town has got to be a huge economical boost to their town. Im in the belief that Nirvana has brought very much needed tourism and museums dedicated to the history of Nirvana. I'm sure it has brought in millions of money that they otherwise wouldn't have had. So they've helped revive a small town economically and has made the town well known. That to me would be so crazy to be apart of something like that. Pretty funny the very people that would give kurt and Krist shit growing up are now the ones saying " I knew they were special and were gonna be special" then go and open up some sort of tourist bus tour or some shit. Haha. Makes me laugh.

Love seeing Aberdeen! I’m sure the locals are nice. You should have asked them what they were like in high school ;) Pretty little towns like this are nice when you’re older, have a car, etc. But for a teenager with no money it’s hard to get out. End of rant :). Great video, pretty footage & info! 🙏💕💕

Are you still in the Harbor
@donniegoodman86793 жыл бұрын
When you enter aberdeen there's that little park where they built that log pavillion that who knows what for but they have a pier I guess you could call it well at the end there's a sort of overpass homeless area that you don't see if you're driving above I used to sturgeon fish there as a teen before you walk down that far there's an old mural painted along the retaining wall . They had students from all the elementary schools paint something and I painted a little blue and white boat from A.J.West later on I surrendered a rendering for a mural to be painted on the smoke shop and along with Dick Creevan and a few other rebels we produced a decent but obviously amateur mural. I possess aerial photos of that building with it's mural burning to ash in a huge inferno. I guess the painting made it valuable enough to put a match to. It's hard not to get nostalgic about the Harbor sometimes. I know there's no other place like it and if I meet anyone from there I know before they tell me. That's really happened.

A lot of Exagerations from Kurt about he living under the Bridge according to Krist
@kencummings9533 жыл бұрын
Krist has said that while Kurt hung out down there, neither he nor anyone else could live there. It was close enough to Gray's Harbor for the tides to come in. Look at the wooden beams of the bridge. They have tidal marks several feet higher than the normal water level. The tides would easily have flooded the bank at their highest.

Kurt was a good troll when he wanted to be. Too much meaning into this for sure... when he was just trying to make a general point about society etc.. Famous me, don't famous me. This is what he wanted... "life" after death. Keep questioning it all... he was more normal that you give him credit for. Great footage though

I walked there in 2016. The house prices are so expensive now compared to Kurt's days. I think this is why of all the publicity through Kurt Cobain's fans. I will admit I did think Aberdeen wasn't the best looking place and s bit of a dive. Very bleak I felt.
