They normally find me but KZbin finds more for me because it's what I like and what I have searched out. It's more likely that you have been finding what you have been looking for most popping up and it just doesn't match with progress and/or mind opening.

I was at the show in the tiny little club when Nirvana played this live for the first time. The room literally exploded when the guitar kicked in. I have never experienced anything like it. Maybe 100 people all losing their minds at the same time. Afterwards we all just looked at each other and said "they are going to be huge..."

This song is a mind blower, a face melter, and one of my favorites. It came out right at the beginning of my senior year of high school. The song single-handledly ushered in a new genre of music, and ended the careers of a lot of pop music artists that were big at the time. The teenagers started dressing like Kurt Cobain, with thrift store clothes and they dyed their hair crazy colors. What a time. It's hard to believe that was almost 30 years ago. I just watched this video 6 times, and then I re-rewound the part where he just hears Kurt’s voice for the 1st time another 5-6 times. I was obsessed with Kurt Cobain. After he died I visited his house which had hedges almost as high as a street lamp. I was determined to get close so I walked up the driveway to get a glimpse of it through the gate. The nanny saw me and yelled at me to get me off the property. I snapped a picture of him as he gave me the finger. I think there may have been a dog running toward the gate as well. I was a bit scared but after travelling by car and bus from Canada I had to pay tribute.

I can remember the first time I ever heard this song, I was 17 on the way to the water park with my girlfriend and she had it in the cd player, it was June of 2001. I can remember the skies opening as if angels were singing. I listened to it over and over and over for like 2 weeks after that. What I LOVE about your videos is how pure your reactions are. You love music, you keep your mind open to every genre, you are genuinely excited about a drum line, a guitar riff, a vocal flourish, a lyric. This kind of music appreciation is often taught in college, and these kids already know how to do it. THIS SONG, though. I am GenX, a white girl from the burbs who fed herself on grunge music in college. I remember exactly where I was when I heard Kurt Cobain had killed himself. This band had such an impact on my life at that age. It is thrilling to see somebody discover this song at the same age I did, and honestly, I get choked up watching it.

'Smells Like Teen Spirit' is when it all went mainstream at the time. I remember being a teen in the 90s, no one had heard of these bands. I had a bit of that obnoxious I-listen-to-cooler-more-obscure-stuff-than-you attitdue. Then this exploded. It was being played at high school pep rallies all of a sudden. 'WTF?' I thought. My little, young, you-can't-understand-me mind exploded. And now I feel like an ass for begrudging the 'popular kids' Nirvana. Music is music and the good stuff speaks beyond boundaries. RIP Kurt.

I actually do.. You're absolutely right. For me it was back in 1998 in my mom's room when I was 13.. I used to lock myself in her room and play the radio alone after school for therapeutic reason. I was shocked it was Nirvana cause I only have heard of them and the skater kids wore their shirts.. I thought they looked so cool. I will never forget the first time I heard that song and how I reacted. I ran to my brothers in the other room across and freaking out saying to them "I just heard a Nirvana song... That song kicks ass".. Lol.... They were like.. "So what do they sound like?" and "Why didn't you call me over?"... I was like "I didn't know it was them... This station NEVER played them before"... Lol A remarkable moment I must say.
