this song would have been such a huge song for nirvana man, it’s such a shame it wasn’t brought out when kurt was alive. This song is like he knew what he was doing with it with all the lyrics and how loud and aggressive the song was, just a shame the tragic end it had.
@ScorpionInTheBag2 жыл бұрын
this song is literally about suicide if you pay attention to the lyrics , it's literally a declaration of suicide. legendary.
@YosefTesfaye102 жыл бұрын
No one probably knows what’s about but it’s such a beautiful song for me I think it’s about Courtney “nothing really bothers her she just wants to lover herself ….. no thought was put in this” but then again Kurt said not to put too much meaning into his lyrics
@speccylimone36842 жыл бұрын
This song was about Kurt's intent to divorce Courtney. However, I believe that if this and "Do Re Mi" came out while he was still alive people would've got the picture and recognised he wasn't just some edgy musician towards the end, he was someone in dire need of help, and maybe he could've seen today. I must admit though, I always put this song on when I attempt, it reminds me of how hopeless I feel, and if I leave the world behind we all benefit, I get to be in eternal peace away from all my problems and the world has one less insufferable bastard.

I cant think of another song that evokes as strong emotions in me as this song. His wailing "You know you're right" in the chorus is like a punch in the gut. Nirvana was the first band I really, truly loved. I was like 10 when kurt died, and even as an adolescent, I think I understood on some level what a true loss to music that was. Kurt, we miss you man

@renaeeastham18302 ай бұрын
This song is about leaving someone !!
@aliceedwards9349Ай бұрын
@@renaeeastham1830 Is it just about that though? Everyone just assumes it's about him leaving Courtney and it likely is at least partly, but I think considering that he committed suicide 3 months after recording the song, and considering the lyrics and emotion in the song, it could also be about him inevitable committing suicide. We know he was a very depressed man and he'd probably contemplated suicide a while before he actually done it. The lyrics "I will crawl away from here", "always knew It would come to this" and "I have never failed to fail" stand out to me. But I guess we'll never know. That's just my interpretation. The way he wails "pain" shortly before ending his own life is too coincidental for me.

Kurt was one of the few musical artists of his generation who was truly sincere about not being able to cope with his existential pain, as opposed to simply milking it, marketing and selling it as just another cheap commodity immediately available to all. If only he were heavier than Heaven, the history of modern music would certainly have been considerably different, especially had he decided to stick around.
