Hi and what a great video, you mentioned the two tier rack did you purchase this separately as the one I have is a single rack?
@mariannetuite74113 жыл бұрын
I have had the 6 litre version of this for about 9 months now. I usually live alone but have someone else living here in a support bubble right now. I largely cook vegetarian dishes and can honestly say my regular oven has become almost redundant. This is the best kitchen gadget I’ve bought (and there have been many)
@NishiV13 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, it’s such a great addition to the kitchen! Think I’ve only used my oven twice since I bought this too

Hi Nishi, thank you for reassuring me. I have never bought or used a Ninja Foodi but have ordered one today and I will do my best to use it once it’s been unpacked, all washable items washed and dried then will start to use. It’s the Ninja Foodi SmartLid 7.5L 15 in 1 Multi Cooker OL750UK, I’m so looking forward to using it, yet a bit apprehensive. Thank you for saying “if you can use a mobile phone, as this reassured me. I usually cook mostly on our Hob but apparently the latest model is able to cook stir fry’s, not so sure it will be as good as my large Wok but will try it. So looking forward to cooking jacket potatoes which take a couple of hours in the oven. Air frying chips so no oil whatsoever. The biggest thing I will have to get over is my fear! I am going to start making space in my kitchen and going to put away a large old and faithful Tefal steamer and our kettle so hoping this will fit in the space which is near to plug sockets. Thanks again.

hey im hoping you can help , as a family of 4 and i love food the other 3 are pretty much standard portions, ive never seen anyone fill the baskets/racks full.... could i put in 1.5kg of chips and add nuggets or something comfortably? can you do big batch loads easy
@NishiV13 жыл бұрын
You can fill the basket to the top - as long as the lid shuts, you can put as much in there as you like. I think the reason people don't is often because they're cooking for fewer people. I only cook for two, but layer things in mine so it's almost full - for example chips and burgers. Hope that helps

I have the 9-in-1 so wouldn't know, but mine is loose and floppy too. I think that's the design of it

How do you keep the food you first cook warm whilst cooking the rest?
@NishiV12 жыл бұрын
I struggle with that depending on what I’m making. Usually in the microwave, or switch out the bits I just cooked with the stuff that needs reheating

I bought a refurbished one last week at Ollie's for $49.99. I hsve a large kitchen, but the unit is heavy & bulky. It's very big, especially the depth, because it needs room in the back for the heated air. The plastic smell was overwhelming. I ran it at 400° for 4 hours on my garage. Then added water and ran it another few hours. Finally I did some research on the melting points of plastic, and decided to not go over 325°. It cooks just as fast (almost burnt frozen fries at 325° for 15 minutes. 7 minutes would have probably been better). The plastic smell is only there when I open the gop, and I expect it till go away eventually. The handles on the basket are awkward to pick up, and I expect the finish on the pot will soon be scratched from the plastic feet on the basket (it gets scratched as you lift up the basket). I bought it a week ago. I contemplate whether to keep it or return it. I've been using it every day, but I have a air fryer Nuwave that does the job just as well (and has a smaller imprint but wider cooking surface. However, the controls on the Nuwave are so overly complicated and repetitive). I haven't used the pressure cooker lid yet, and I probably won't. I have 3 instant pots, and usually use glass lids with all of them. I occasionally use the pressure cooker lids, but it's too much trouble to wash. If I were to keep this unit, I would look to see if a glass lid fits on the pot, and see if a stainless steel pot replacement is available.

Very useful, thank you. I have read that these types of machines with air fryers can be a little noisy. Would you please let me know the approx sound level compared to other machines? For example is it as noisy as a washing machine on spin or a tumble dryer ? Hopefully not an electric drill LOL Happy New Year btw:)
@NishiV14 жыл бұрын
Lol definitely not as noisy as an electric drill 😂 I don’t have a tumble dryer but I’d say a washing machine is noisier than the air fryer. The other functions are all fine, but the noisiest thing is when you quick release the pressure on the pressure cook mode. Hope that helps? Happy new year! X

That the air cooker lid can’t be removed put me off. I’m assuming it’s because it needs power. But we owned gadgets 40years ago that had bayonet fittings for power so that fryers could be stripped down for cleaning.
@NishiV13 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think the power is linked to that lid. It's one of the things I mentioned in my latest video '9 things I hate about my ninja'. It doesn't actually bother me now I have it, but would be nice if it was detachable

How I've not thrown this damn thing through the window I do not know. I actually hate it. Why doesn't anyone tell you how to use it? On the sheet you say you refer too regularly, it says push pressure..but you dont push pressure. The only way to get it to light up pressure is to turn the dial. Then it says select hi or low....how? I've tried everything. I've pushed pulled and turned. Nothing changes that hi setting. I'm going yo give it 2 days, then it's going back. I am frustrated and furious with it. GAHHHHH!
@NishiV13 жыл бұрын
You press temp and then turn the dial to switch between high and low

Thanks so much for your reply. I worked it out eventually. Deeply disappointed that ninja didnt update the instructions when they brought out the new model. Only the fact it's so heavy, that its survived. Lol. Thanks again.
