If you are at fuel tech, you should stop at proline racing engine next door / same parking lot. They make 5k+ hp engines. The 5400hp engine he mentioned is a proline engine.

Just so you know methanol is not like gasoline... it can be dermally absorbed through the skin and is class 3 flammable but also class 6.1 toxic with ability to impact your central nervous system with multiple exposures, it also burns with no visible flame or very little. So I recommend wearing PPE when handling it/pouring it. Its commonly used in Canada in oil and gas industry and I have met some folks permanently impacted by not handling it properly in their career. stay safe.
