It was so painful watching this episode. Watching you put some of the more difficult bits to remove BACK onto the car (you can pass smog sans PRECAT and EGR valve, btw) - brought a tear to my eye...and not the good kind. Regardless, it’s always awesome to see the Z32 get some press.

Removing those great looking dump pipes to fit factory crap back on it, thereby choking the turbos. Best bang for buck mod I ever did was get a dump pipe with de-cat replacing the stock dump and cat converter on my 1JZ-vvti. The turbo spool up was SO much quicker. This was painful to watch.

i respect you for going all the way! but you didnt have to do that.. it will fit with motor in car. step1, disconnect exhaust, step 2 disconnect shifter linkage and transmount. step 3 remove upper plenum, step 4 jack up transmission high as possible. this will increase gap between firewall and motor. step4. install or uninstall EGR Valve. yes PITA, but car is well worth it!

Had a 300ZX Twin Turbo years ago. JWT chip. Sport 500 turbos. Poly bushed. OZ Split rims. 450 BHP and could have gone so much higher. Was a great car. Just sad to see this one put back to normal spec. Those Nismo wheels should have stayed on as much as the decats. Oh well. Great to see it though.

Anything needing fixing on this car is always a nightmare. The VG series engines were a pain for repairs. 300ZX known for this so don’t think it’ll be cheaper bexause it’s Japanese. Expensive car to have, different proposition to the Skyline

What's weird to me is that WD originally when they were in the UK actually did modify cars to quite an extent. Just look at the old episodes where they did these: ●Turning a 944 Turbo into a track-day car ●Setup an R33 Skyline GT-S to be a drift machine ●customized with snake skin livery and added 50 hp to an FD RX-7 (it had ~250 hp before they tuned it) ●Turned a heavily beat up Cadillac Coupe De Ville into a superb show car They never disliked modifying cars and mostly did very nice mods. But now here we are trying to make a near 30 year old car emissions friendly. 😆

you better be replacing your VTC solenoids while youre in there.. @02:35 you can see at this shot that the tar is fully melted out from backside of vtc solenoid. its on its way out. needs to A: be resealed or prefferably B: replaced with new.. NOT CHEAP!

The VG30 has a dual PCV system. One for under boost, one for vacuum. The one when boosting is always pulling a vacuum on the case, regardless (plumbed to turbo inlet). The one he’s replacing is arguably worthless.

Which is really the problem with these later 300ZX : you can barely fit your hands in there to do anything. Everything becomes a huge project. Even the later model Z31 was hard to get into. Too much engine and stuff into a small place.

Honestly, he couldn't just have bought a stock car and saved "Ant" all of this work. If the car was sold outside of California it has to meet federal emissions standards for 1991. It should be mentioned that doing all these modifications is only possible in states that dont have emission inspections. It is nothing compared to the standards that UK drivers have to meet with a MOT or drivers in Germany and the EU in general.They check not only emissions standards, they check the road worthiness off the car. Why anyone would remove a cat is beyond me (unless its plugged) I hate getting stuck behind a old car and having to smell the gases.

If you can even find a completely stock Z32TT, you’re going to pay about $20k, give or take. Most cars this age are exempt from emissions testing in most US states.

It's understandable why they added the emissions equipment, but California is sometimes annoying when it comes to their emissions BS. That's basically how the MGB died in 1980, all thanks to the stupid emissions laws and other things that were introduced in the 1970s. The only thing that really would be needed would be the PCVs to reduce crankcase pressure, and that's basically it.

@@aaryeshg.6526 Actually those OE rims add more value than the OEM ones because those rims are from NISMO which it's the performance division of Nissan Mike doesn't have argument in that part a Nissan 300ZX Z32 or an Sileighty or S13 S14 with a pair of Nismo LMGT2 can duplicate the resale price a pair of Nismo wheels like the LMGT2's alone worth 3000 dlls and those are made in Japan about Mike what you would expect he is from Europe were there is a lot of hard-collectors I'm not against them but if they are going to relationate all tuning and aftermarket and street racing with F&F which it's the worst example of tuning like Mike does I can't take him serious .
