Great video. Thanks for showing how difficult things actually are. It’s a good reality check when tackling restorations yourself. Already waiting for the next episode on this series. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I try my best to show both the ups and downs of the build. Definitely learned some lessons on this one.

Great video. I retrimmed the targa tops on one of my zeds and fortunately that was much easier than the door cards. At least you had a go at it.

Thanks, I gave it a shot. The contours of the door were definitely the hard part, lesson learned.

Thanks for the update. I would never tackle complicated upholstery myself. Too much of a nightmare.

I learned my lesson that day for sure, totally underestimated how difficult it would be. I've done seats before without much trouble but door panels are a different beast.

Got a 91tt 5spd. Shes a little rough. Mechanicals are done (I hope) from Zshack in Houston. Original engine and turbos, 120k service, new injectors, hoses, alternator, pulled tranny, fixed clutch arm, replaced old fuel tank (rusted) and pump. Bushings on differential, ball joints, and other misc chassis and suspension tweaks. Leaving Stock. Once we get it up and running well, we start on the exterior: Needs paint but is straight. Tiny bit of rust under driver door handle, front air dam good, not broken. Will stay with original color, looks like dark gray but is probably black per colors offered by nissan for 91. Interior in decent condition except seats needs rebuild. Interior innovations offers full package leather, foam, and replace the tween for about 1200. We Will see how she goes!

Sounds like an ideal starting point for a project, and sounds like a pretty stock looking build which I’m all about. These cars have become pretty rare, it’s pretty special to see them in stock condition.

Hey I live Houston and I’m about to buy a 300zx, any recommendations for a good trustworthy mechanic n place to go ? Is Zshack the way ?

I had some that were sundamaged and I found that multiple passes of the trim blackening stuff for jeep bumpers worked to rejuvenate it back to original if you have that issue

Great video on restoration. You have quite a task of things to do on this 95 I applaud your efforts. Did you do a video on the driver door hinges replace noted in this Part 3 if so where is it? Thanks Pete

Thanks, I appreciate it! Yes, I did end up replacing the door hinges, you'll see it at the beginning of restoration part 10: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWKViKCNq52jqq8

Those door panels make a huge difference in the look of it! That king of vinyl is the worst to work with

It was, I think I should have been looking for something more stretchy maybe.

Steam in your friend in upholstery... A simple garment upholstery steamer will work although a professional model is better.
@noboltsleftbehind2 жыл бұрын
Noted, I'll definitely try using one if I'm ever brave enough to attempt upholstery like this again.

same thing going on with my windows top roller. do you actually have to take the window out or can the upper plastic panel just be removed? thanx for posting.
@noboltsleftbehind8 ай бұрын
You don't have to take the window completely out,I did the second one with it still in.
@driger8888 ай бұрын
@@noboltsleftbehind thanks man. i was going to just power the window down, remove the upper trim, power the window up, grab the stem of the upper roller with a pliers, unscrew, slide it up and out, and replace. if that fixes it, i'm done.
@silverfish-zx97082 жыл бұрын
Where did you buy the plastic parts for the window?

I found those on the Concept Z Performance website
