Umm...it's this kind of old (I'm old) thinking that has me spinning....I'm trying to get away from even the ridiculous word perfection...its completely subjective, unachievable and absolutely gets in the way of whats important....far more important than the myth of "perfect craftsmanship"...it's finishing. You have to finish. Use the wrong words for a person like myself and you end up with a lifetime of potential and a garage full of "perfect projects" that couldn't meet the criteria and were never finished. Just piled up regrets for even the inspiration to start them. I now make the commitment to finish what I start whatever the final outcome. Further, because I suck, I also have to commit to finishing them ON TIME. That daggone word causes lateness that causes a bad taste for the end user regardless of the finish..."I needed it then, not now"...because I was chasing a ghost for two extra months. Thank god for youtube and generous artists to help work out these kinks. Cheers

One last thing, something that helps me out these days is making a list of things or even steps to a project and checking them off as you go. Yeah, I went through years of school and OJT and got a degree in paint/fender/body, and when I would ask about PDR, a lot of the guys would scoff and say it was fine for small dents, or maybe after hail storms. They'd all want to remove/replace fenders, cut/weld/fill/sand/paint QP/SP and door skins. I'd ask them why they don't try to manipulate the dent and make at least reuse the original fenders etc. Most would say it was easier and faster to do it their way. I'd still hold on to the old parts and practice manipulating the metal, but if I had been able to see this channel when I was still working there and going to school, I think I would have been able to convince the instructor as well as the owner of the body shop I was working at to train me on it. I'm not knocking the other way at all and understand that in certain instances it is definitely needed. However, an alternative is always nice to have.

@@jmackinjersey1 I remember reading about this technique of repairing small dents years ago. This method of dent repair has improved and progressed beyond repairing just door dings.

Respect! Metal stretches (gets longer) when it bends. How you manage to massage it all back to the OEM, die-stamped form, with no paint damage, is epic! Pure talent. Can't read, or write a book on this magic!

This is amazing. You are a master at this. I wouldn't even think that this panel would be able to be repaired without being pulled and repainted.

I had no idea this could be done to this level from that extreme of a dent. Incredible. New subscriber here.

I’ve known for a while now that PDR was being used for say little door dings and minor little bumps here and there. No clue that people were doing dents of this magnitude! Absolutely incredibly work!!!
