Anthony i always enjoy your videos. I have changed my rear diff, transmission, power steering & brake fluid every 30K miles on my 08 G35 automatic w sports package. It has 270K miles on it & still running perfect. Keep these videos coming Brother. Thank you !!

That's fantastic you've enjoyed so much mileage with the car! I should probably change out the power steering fluid and clutch fluid this year. I'm working on installing headers on the car but I'm breaking the components into smaller videos. So filming and editing in my spare time is taking a little while (just got the test pipes off and will remove the front O2's in the next few days). Did I send you some stickers yet? If not, you can email your mailing address to info@gofasthavefun.ca

Anthony, that was a great video for the novice learn from. I myself prefer using the Amsoil GL5 with LSD modifiers. Their Squeezable Soft Packs makes possible to fill the differential without the need of any pumps or hoses.

Great video, and very informative. I picked up some Amsoil Gear oil packets during their black Friday sale. Just waiting to get the car out of storage in order to change the fluid. My 03 currently has 141k KM, and I'm not sure if the first owner had it changed or not, so better safe than sorry.

Yup, doesn't hurt to change the diff fluid. If it's really bad in there, you might need to change it premature after a few months of driving to get all the old stuff out again.

Great content you inspired me to go out and purchase my 350Z. Do you think the finned diff cover is worth purchasing?
@AnthonyJ3502 жыл бұрын
I think it's a good idea. I like the Z1 Motorsports differential cover because it still maintains that curve the factory one has. Gale Banks makes a great video why flat back diff covers aren't good. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b17ceGZ6aK91iNU You'll want to match it with a Bell Raceworks differential brace and Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. That'll make a nice street car with some sort of LSD. Also if you want some free stickers, feel free to email your mailing address to info@gofasthavefun.ca

What brand of fluid do u recommend for a MT g35? redline? oem?
@AnthonyJ3502 жыл бұрын
I found Redline works better for the car in the differential. Also MT transmission fluid designed for Nissan removed any notchiness in the transmission as well.

How can I level the rear diff fluid correctly if I can jack up the rear side of the car only? (you know the car will be tilted and the rear diff level can't be done accurately...)
@AnthonyJ3502 жыл бұрын
Use jack stands on the front and lift the rear and use jack stands. Do not get under the car using a jack alone, always have some sort of cribbing under the vehicle.

Hey got a question here So i got a 03 Infiniti g35 coupe with 212k miles i got it for 1k only and planned to restore this vehicle in time id like to get another 200k miles but im willing to invest more than the car is worth Heres my question im uncertain about if or when the differential fluid was replaced... I have a whireing sound when decelerating kinda feels or sounds like the engine is powering down but had me thinking it might be something to do with the condition of my differential.. would it be viable for me to get it serviced with new fluid this far into the engines life? (Engine is in very good shape) I dont wanna do this if i risk needing a whole new differential lol

Changing the fluid in the differential won't hurt it. Should change all the fluids.

Your torque specs (25 ft-lb) are NOT correct. The correct specs directly from the Nissan Service Manual Pages MA-24 and MA-25 are (55 - 61 ft-lb) for both the DRAIN and FILL plugs on the DIFFERENTIAL. The torque specs for the for the 350Z manual TRANSMISSION are (22 - 29 ft-lb) for both the DRAIN and FILL plugs. I'm pointing this out not to be a jerk, but to give people the correct information. I've been doing track days for a long time and I have seen 350Z's leaking differential fluid and those people finding out that their differential plug magically disappeared. When speaking to them, their response was something along the lines of "Oh, I thought the torque specs were the same as the transmission." -Have fun, be safe
@AnthonyJ350 Жыл бұрын
That's what my Haynes Manual lists it at. 61ft-lbs sounds high for a plug. Not saying you're wrong but I'd write a letter to Haynes.
