Matt, this is very valuable content, compared what I find fantastic are the combined applied processes and not only one step you show on youtube. rather videos, how you show your manual thinking and problem solving.

So where did you go through the firewall? Was it a pre-drilled hole with a grommet?

there's a big port on the driver side on the far left, there's a wiring harness going through that is pretty easy to find from inside the engine bay. I just poked a small hole through it and ran my signal wires through that way. hope that helps. (I have a 2018 frontier)

Was there ever a video of you installing the 3-way interior switches?

Very interesting. I know this is an older post, but do you have any idea how to get a wire through the firewall on a 2018 Frontier on the passenger side? I know how on the drivers side, but cannot find a route on the other side. Thank you.

I have watched many 'how to' vids for light installs. This is by far the best as I have the toggle switch like yours. Quick question. With your setup when the ignition is off does everything turn off even if switch is left in the on position for the lights?
@MattVerley3 жыл бұрын
No, the fuse block is hard wired to the battery so everything controlled by the switches is independent of key position. It is fairly easy to add another relay that is controlled by a key-switched 12v source, but I didn't really have a reason to do that on this project.

I really like how you go through your processes it has been super helful! Question though... where did you ground out the switch?

Like the work, what made you go with that location for the wire?

This whole bumper/ wiring DIY has been fantastic content for my Xterra dilemma. LOL, I’ve been cutting cardboard templates for what seems months. Is there a chance I could purchase your CAD files/ drawings ? (Please) ? Thanks in advance. 👍 Oh, and thanks for the links for the wiring. 😉

It's too bad you're not interested in selling that bumper you designed. With a few tweeks I think you'd have the best one on the market.
