Thank you, your video was very helpful to me, my PCV valve broke and I didn't know what it was called, so with the video I knew how to order. Thank you very much. Gracias

Maybe a video showing how to diagnose and repair evap system?. O'Reily's told me I have an Evap code and not sure to do from there. Would love to fix it on my own.
@ScottiesHobbies4 жыл бұрын
A EVAP code can sometimes be really hard to diagnose and repair. It could be as simple as a vapor Purge or vent solenoid not working properly or as hard as a pinhole leak in a hose somewhere in the EVAP system on your vehicle. Did they tell you what code is in your computer?
@ScottiesHobbies4 жыл бұрын
If you check out my video library I think I have a diagnosis video for EVAP code p0442.

Cool thanks. I don't remember the exact code but I am going to get it for sure tomorrow then try and repair the system.

@@brandenhall1941 I have been trying to do some research on these codes for you. Finally got a few minutes to get in front of my computer. I have never dealt with this code or these codes in particular my particular myself.. But maybe I can give you some adgive you some advice. Looking up all of your codes on all data all of them have one possible cause in common and that is: the harness to the pump. Did you check the pump harnes on both sides of the connection to verify continuity or voltage? You did have a cam code. I'm not sure if the pump and cam sensor have anything in common. Let me think.... 🤔 I have a short day Friday if I'm busy til then. If you think of any other symptoms to add, lemme know. I promise I don't forget about you.

OK, soooo once I repair the part throwing the P0448 on my 2008 Frontier, how would I reset my computer? Would disconnecting the battery do it?
@ScottiesHobbies4 жыл бұрын
The code should clear itself within 50 to 70 miles if the repair was done properly. Or if you replace the proper part. If you have a scan tool you should be able to use that to reset your computer or if you disconnect the battery and let it sit for a couple minutes and then reconnect your computer should clear out as well. I have seen many times that just disconnecting the battery does not through the check engine light though. So short answer the light should clear itself within 70 miles or you can clear with a scan tool.
@ErnieHeyek4 жыл бұрын
@@ScottiesHobbies Awesome! Thanks. So, not sure I repaired the proper part. Went to Autozone, borrowed their scan tool which is how I knew the code. Replaced the valve in my engine compartment. If that does not do it, many other videos showed taking the canister out and cleaning it. Might try that next. (and their tool does not reset, so I'll drive it for 70 miles). Thanks again, at least I know where all the parts are thanks to your vids AND I'm going to replace my PCV because it looks so damn easy, and it's way passed time!

Nice, for some reason I thought the evap canister was in the gas tank - I guess I was thinking of the fuel pump. My Xterra just threw a P1446 "evap canister vent control valve" code. Would that be the solenoid valve you showed, near the engine, or a valve inside the canister itself?
@ScottiesHobbies7 жыл бұрын
+Ryan b the vent is the solenoid near the cannister. Id clean the hose from the solenoid to ambient. Its common for those to get clogged with spiderwebs and debris off the road.

+Scotties Hobbies Right on, thanks for the advice man! I'll try that out & see if it helps. Have a good one bro. +1 subscriber ;-)

The Evap system PURGE valve is the one under the hood. The Evap canister VENT valve is attached directly to the Evap canister, which is located close to the gas tank. The fuel pump is also close to the gas tank.

My Frontier is California compliant. More & more the fuel pump nozzle shuts off while fueling before it is full. I'm told that the EVAP valve may be dirty and not opening. How can I clean that?
@ScottiesHobbies5 жыл бұрын
What you're hearing is true possible there is a possibility that your evap Vapor vent solenoid has gone bad or is getting clogged. They get clogged with road debris such as brake dust and Road grime. The Vapor vent solenoid is the Evap solenoid near your Vapor canister under the vehicle. That is the solenoid that lets fumes released into the atmosphere. When you pump that valve should open a little bit to release the pressure when the fuel gets induced into the fuel system. What is probably happening is the pressure is building up causing the fuel pump to see the pressure and think the fuel tank is full.
@yeahjustlikethat5 жыл бұрын
It's a known flaw there is an NTSB on that one. Perhaps you did it already but you can buy the party from Nissan directly, it's a reengineered part. I did and it stopped premature stop at the pump which was driving me crazy. I confirm it's the EVAP sensor located near the fuel tank
