Hey Jason, I commented to you a month or two ago about me getting a Frontier. Your video explaining why you wouldn't buy one made me decide to get it, I'm in northwest BC so my needs are different than yours, everything I needed matched up. I got the truck 5 days ago, 2025 Pro4x, Crew Cab, short bed, Nismo suspension and lift, nismo exhaust, and I have a snorkel, (mostly for dust), and a canopy on the way. So far it's been pretty amazing, it's snowed a foot in the last 24 hours and this thing is very capable in snow and on ice.

It depends on where you are I think. They are sitting on lots, but that doesn't mean they're not hitting the driveway. Here in central California, I see 3 to 5 2024 Tacoma every week. I've only seen like 4 new Colorado and Canyon combined these past 5 months. New Tacomas are even more common when you hit big cities like LA. I just drove on I-10 last week and saw 3 different 2024 Tacomas within 5 miles. I also saw a reddit post not long ago that states Tacoma is the current top selling vehicle in Hawaii Edit: so my theory is Toyota overestimated the new design and delivered too many units. They didn't think 4th Gen tacoma would have such underwhelming launch. Having to justify setting up a brand new factory in Mexico they over delivered

I've owned many Nissans and they've always been outstanding quality. I hope they don't go out of business of having to do a merger that compromises their quality vehicles. @Chubbydippin2 күн бұрын
@Jason-Samko Jason, your takes and experiences regarding vehicles are invaluable and greatly appreciated. My issue is not with you. I completely agree with the Maverick being a big hit. My comment was specifically about NO "small" trucks having a 6' bed. And very few, (2) I think, "mid-sized" trucks offering a 6' bed. I'd buy a Maverick for sure if only they offered a small cab 6' bed option. Truck camping, sleeping in the bed, is drastically harder to achieve with anything shorter than a 6' bed. Why almost EVERY vehicle has to have seating for 5, is ridiculous. It also raises the price for smaller trucks having to build according to passengers needs instead of truck carrying "stuff" needs. It makes sense for suvs, hatchbacks and sedans. But for that 5 seater "requirement" in small and midsized TRUCKS...it's unfortunate. I live and drive in the 3rd biggest and most congested city in this country. On a daily basis while driving, 99% of the millions of vehicles driving around me have only one person in them. Why can't manufacturers make vehicles designed for what I mostly see...SOLO DRIVERS? Can't wait for the launch of the new Mini Cooper with a 14" bed. I'm sure it too will be called a "truck."
@Jason-SamkoКүн бұрын

@@dvader3263 To be honest, a truck was once a tool, not a transportation vehicle. I actually use my 93 Toyota Pickup more of a “truck” than I do with my Tacoma since my Tacoma has the 5ft bed. My 93 has a 7.5 ft bed and I throw everything back there. I rebuild my fence and hauled a pretty sizable stack of 8ft posts in the back and it fit very comfortably. It also has a higher payload due to it being 2WD and shaving off all the weight from the double cab. But you’re right that if I want to take my family somewhere, I cannot use the 93. Even though it has a bench seat, it’s really just a 2 seater. I’m just glad I can have both.

My dad still hangs onto a 2004 Frontier as a summer pickup. It was his tow behind when he had a large RV so he could get around after parking "the big bus". Some things are built to last and if you're diligent about maintenance 15 years isn't unrealistic at all. I kept a Honda Civic for 19 years and I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was shared between three family members until 300,000 miles. Somebody else bought it and then blew it up because they never checked the oil.
