As pointed out, there were a few issues with the editing of this video where the video blacked out. I've gone in and cut those parts out while trying to keep as much continuity as possible, but there are a few details that get skipped over at the beginning of the video. Sorry about that folks!!!

Where are you located, and how much you charge for upgrade
@KonduitEV2 жыл бұрын
We are located in Vista California. In terms of pricing for upgrades, that depends on what year your LEAF is, and what size battery you want to swap in... The larger capacity "upgrade" batteries are quite tough to get ahold of, and we don't typically sell or stock them, so the exact pricing is also going to boil down to who is selling the battery...

How much for a nissan leaf visa pack 2015 october ?

This was the most hold-my-beer teardown of a LEAF pack I have seen on youtube. I love the custom 2x4 flex mitigation tool. Thanks for for the video!

Well done. I find myself impressed with the no faff ingenuity of folks down under. Hopefully the customer has many more hassle free years of driving.

I'm enjoying watching the steps you take for disassembly. We have a 2016 Leaf that has served us well for the past six years. I hope our Leaf lasts for a few more years before we have to consider upgrading the battery. Are you guys following the work being done in New Zealand to replace the Leaf cells with BYD Blade cells? Thanks for the upload. Now on to Part 2 of the project.

Does anyone know a company here in the USA that has the wisdom to work on a way to use new modules to replace used ones in the battery pack and profit from this aftermarket need?

Thanks for the video! Some parts of the video editing resulted in way too early fade-to-blacks, you may want to edit and upload again...

How did you remove cover with all that silicon sealant
@KonduitEV Жыл бұрын
The early Gen1 packs just have a re-usable rubber seal, so taking the lid of is easy on them. The later packs have VERY tenacious silicone sealant which is quite hard to cut through... I would recommend using a sharp knife, or better yet, a vibratory cutting tool.

why did you say at the begining of the video that replacing bad cells will not improve the overall condition of the battery?... isn't that what people do when they refurbish the battery? unless the battery comes from the manufacturer that's about the only thing can be done. correct me if I'm wrong
@KonduitEV Жыл бұрын
Generally speaking, when it comes to the LEAF, in most cases the cells degrade pretty evenly in terms of capacity loss, so replacing "a few" cells usually won't make a significant improvement. For those types of situations, the only solution to make a major impact would be to replace all of the cells (so essentially replace the whole battery). In more rare cases (like with the car in this video), sometimes one or more cells can suffer from a major failure, which can be rectified by replacing said cell(s).

Absolute complete lack of High Voltage awareness and NO use of personal protective equipment! WHY!?! This is dangerous and someone following your poor example can get killed. Please take down this irresponsible teardown video.

Kindof surprised me as well. Obviously he knows what he is doing. After opening the case he has gloves. Other videos talk in depth about electrical safety. This video covered disassembly & fault finding.

You forgot to mention to drain out the battery before you remove it, so it is lighter 🤪
