Nissan Leaf - Bypassing nagscreen PERMANENT SOLUTION 👍

So here's the end result of a quick project. Mounted a permanent box behind the OBD2 port, with a prototype circuit that simply sends a CAN-message onto AV-CAN so that the nag-screen gets cancelled. Possibility to go straight to radio/map/status screen! 😁

What kind of board is it? Is the CAN message customizable? I would prefer the energy screen as a default.

This was a one off ESP32-WROOM based build, total component cost was 10€. It is possible to go to Status screen instead of radio yes!

Yes! But it requires non-standard wiring on the OBD2 port, but very doable!

Oh my, I hated that screen when I had my Leaf, driving a Hyundai Kona EV now that has a similar message but it goes away by itself after 30 sec or so of driving.

I saw some early work and love it. I always wanted to do this but don't have the time for "another" project. Please say this is open source? A schematic and some code on github would be awesome.

No it doesn't work on 2018+ unfortunately

When you power up the LEAF there's a message that appears every time 0:10 to say that you agree or disagree to telematics being uploaded to Nissan about your journey. He bypast the message sending commands to the cars CAN bus

Does it "press" OK or just delete the message?

It presses either FM/Map/Radio :) Wasn't possible to press OK, since the touchscreen is not on CAN

@@DalasEVRepair Will the telematics and Nissan Leaf app work if you do not press ok? AFAIK the car won't share any info and the app won't get data without pressing OK. Am I wrong?
