Thanks a lot. Same issue here, battery slowly draining and self opening rear lock. This confirms exactly what I was suspecting.. Switch activate itself, most probably for inner humidity / environmental contamination (the switch should be sealed but clearly not well enough). Thank you for sharing this. All the best 😊

Thanks, for this video, now I know the rip off that goes on at Nissan dealers. Tried to charge me £300 plus messing around, and messing around. I told them to do one, so DIY'ed it myself and been a year and it's popping open when locked, unlocked and driving. Due for MOT, £20 switch off an Ebay seller in another country and bingo, all sorted.

@@spencerward6427 Just the switch, £20 off Ebay, less than 10 minutes installation by yourself, no special equipment needed other than a socket wrench, and you're good to go.

Hi I have a nissan micra k12. my boot won't open outside. But inside I does just by disconnected cable and reconnect and it opens it. Does this mean I need a new lock part with it not being electrical fault?

Hi yes thanks. My boot does not open unless i go through the back. I refitted a new battery and all is well apart from the boot not opening
