You have to bear in mind mate. You continuously comparing this to the Raptor. But you forget that the raptor is almost $20000 more expensive. You need to compare it with the likes of a ruggedx, wildtrek or colorado z71.

Mine has TC working on front axle when diff engaged. Worth noting, maybe the older models dont. Check Tyler Thompson page, the first one was open diff and the next has ABLS working when diff is on.

Compared to the STX which this is based on is it better for towing or worse, I have the 2019 STX and regularly tow my boat

Worse as it weighs more so cannot carry as much when towing its maximum.

The taller and wider tyres, in light-truck construction. The underbody protection, the lightbar, towbar, and even the suspension. And the bullbar. All adds up.
