Great training video. I would recommend you split the old belt in half ( along the entire length) and remove half first. Then slip the new belt on halfway, pull the remain half of the old belt off and finish pushing on the new on. This way you won't have any problems with the belt position as the old one is only removed as he new one is installed. :)

I am about to change the timing belt and water pump on my Daughters 2015 Qashqai. I will be using this video as my guide through the process. This is one of the best walkthrough videos for car maintenance I have ever seen. Very clear, concise and with plenty of little tips. Not shown in your video is using the crankshaft timing pin on the engine block to assure the camshaft sprocket is aligned correctly. Is it worth doing that for this job, or is it used for some other reason?

Hi, if it is 1.5 dci then yes most likely its gonna be same with some minor differences, I did not lock crankshaft just mark with tipex before removal of old belt, this is how I was tought, but correct way would be to lock crankshaft, locking pins goes between dipstic and flywheel, if you not sure 100% I woundnt recommend doing this job self, one way or another best of luck, thanks!

Great video. Question please, how long is that job realistically?
@EverydayValuedMechanic3 ай бұрын
Hi, depends on person doing it and also what equipment is available, i think the official time for this somewhere around 2-3 hours, definetly no longer than 4 hours, thank you

Great video, I had a question, is it necessary to change water pump when you are changing timing belt ? Thanks
@EverydayValuedMechanic5 ай бұрын
Not at all, but it is always recomended as it is quiet common for water to start leaking or worse than that, and as they are not that expensive compare to labour cost is it better to them is same time, thanks!
