Just watched the video as my qashqai has the same problem, just a question about the tools I need. Is it just a 10mm socket reachet I need? Cheers

Hi i followed all these steps but when i hand tightened the wipers to test the dont move and are getting stuck any sugestions?

You'll have to tighten them down with a ratchet if you don't feel it is tight enough, the splines on the spindles won't grip the wiper arm so they will slip and the position will be wrong.

My qashqai is 2011, driver side wiper hits side of window, and seems the linkage is okay and motor, issue is..the spindle that wiper sits on is worn..is there an easy fix solution rather than replacing linkage???

I fitted the linkage and motor to my Qashqai. The problem I have is when I turn it into park position it stops at the top not bottom. Could it be a faulty linkage ?

I would remove the wiper arms, run the motor till it stops and re fit the arms in the park position and try it again. If the park position changes then potentially you have a defective motor

@@MTMMotorServices I did exactly that. I took the wipers off and ran it till it stopped, the stop position was at the top.

Can you get the wiper arms off without that particular tool?

Yes you can. In 90% of cases I've not needed to use that tool, this time though they were particularly tight on the spindles.

@@MTMMotorServices I managed to get the nuts off but still can't get the wiper arms off. The mechanism has been reattached through the inspection hatches now so no longer need to get the arms off. For now anyway... :-) Thanks for your help. Great video.

Yes, Took a few bangs of a hammer, unscrew the nut up but with threads still aligned with the left and bang the nut not the bolt. .

I've replaced the motor on mine. Now the wipers always drop down a few inches first before going up. So, I have to have the park position quite high to start. Any ideas?

Did the linkage come pre positioned on the motor? I'd say you could try removing the linkage, wait for the motor to return to park position and then re fit the linkage and try that. Otherwise it could be a bad motor with an incorrect memorised position.

@@MTMMotorServices Thanks for the reply. I bought the motor and fitted to the OEM linkage. The old motor was doing the same. Very weird! I watched the motor before I installed it and it went one way for a bit, then went into normal operation!
