This is the first realistic review of the X-trail I've seen on KZbin and I've had to go to a German channel to find it. Thanks for doing it in English! The UK reviews are all performed by morons who've never driven further than their local supermarket and are obsessed with finding interior cubby holes for water bottles or bananas. My needs are for a vehicle which will pull a folding camper across muddy fields (and motorways, obviously) while providing enough storage for four people's holiday gear. It also needs to be reasonably economical and very comfortable. Your test suggests to me that this car could do the job.

Also persönlich ein Quantensprung. 😁 Durch dein Video habe ich direkt Lust den Wagen zu fahren und weiß Bescheid. Top Video! Liebe Grüße aus Itzehoe (Norddeutschland). 🙂✌🏽

***** Did you only stay for a short time, and did you just have time to review the cars?

Anwar Afhim Hey, we didnt some accompanying adventure activity as this should be the image of the car. Not my focus though.

***** Great review, it's just a große schade that the offroad ability isn't very good, which is very disappointing, as that is why you buy an SUV instead of a people carrier, that's how I see it, and I don't understand why it's become fashionable for people to people buy an SUV when they aren't going to go offroad. For me, this car is a bit pointless, and the interior isn't all that great either. Oh well, very comprehensive review as always, it's just that for me, the car is a bit disappointing. Sorry to be so negative about such a great review, especially when you went all the way to India. Also, many people like the looks, but personally, I've never been a fan of that type of design. How about you?
@autogefuehl10 жыл бұрын
Anwar Afhim No problem, you are talking about the car and not the review. Every car can be criticized :) Well actually it is said that in a couple of years, 1/3 of all sold vehicles are SUV. That is because they respond to a demand of safety. People think SUV are safer - which they arent. Plus, the higher seating position is indeed comfortable and the normal car seating position is rather not very suited to humans. So I can understand the SUV trend. And most people really dont need to offroad features - besides in Canada etc. :)

Someone teach this man the difference between "sometimes" and "always." Sorry to be such a stickler; I always appreciate his program sometimes in general.
@fortonna10 жыл бұрын
The ground clearance difference compared to the old x-trail (T31) is 5mm. I think you are focusing too much on that, a little resarch before might have helped.

***** One more thing, since people like cinematic cameras and all that fluff, acquiring some more filming equipment like those rails for sidescrolling or doing some slow-motion beauty shots would do a great deal for you videos. If you have the time and manpower, of course. One other thing, since the videos are longer, it would make sense to do some close up shots while explaining. For example, when shooting the bootspace, bring the camera closer and adjust the ISO so we can actually see the cargo compartment in visible light (since they are lined with black cloth). Then film/explain the little things like straps or nooks for bags, or how the boot roll cover works etc. Details like these make for a more informed experience and adds more value to your work. Because any shmuck can talk about a car for 5 minutes and say nothing, but you can tell a great deal in 20 minutes actually :)
@autogefuehl10 жыл бұрын
***** Hey, check out our latest Audi video for that e.g., we are doing that basically. In this case, this was a quite extreme production with limited time and limited manpower.
@madant777710 жыл бұрын
***** I don't see it yet, but I will surely watch it! I know it is hard to do videos on a limited time/budget, I just wanted to reinforce the notion that more cinematic filming is going to excite more people. I know it is superficial, but that is the way of things :) But because of the length of your videos you can do filming of the details more then anybody doing a car review in 3-5 minutes. For example, when you talk about something for a few minutes, it would be good to leave the audio and input video on those parts explained more, it makes it less dry for the eyes. It is not a bad critique, it is just the nature of human beings in this time and space we're in. We do want to hear all the tidbits, but the 'modern eye' likes more more moving video. I don't know how else to put it, English is not my first language ;) All in all, I don't want to see others doing superficial reviews and getting more views just because of the camera/editing. It is all in the tricks of the trade :) But don't get me wrong, pushing too much editing for OCD kids is not the answer also. Basically what people want is for you to talk about something while showing it up close from more angles with purpose, to put it shortly. Think of it like showing/talking about a car to your good friend whom you would show those details in person.

Wheres the off roading?
@autogefuehl10 жыл бұрын
pizzapingvin I know hard offroad riders perceive it differently, but most of the time its not possible go really go _hard_ offroad when testing the vehicles
@pizzapingvin10 жыл бұрын
***** I dont think anyone was expecting "hard" offroading but at least something where the 4wd comes into play. Up a steep slope or over some mud. Nothing gets damaged doing that. And maybe quickly show the different 4wd modes in action, that is always fun to watch especially for potential buyers. I mean people buying these cars today buy them for two reasons, high seating and 4wd. Since you can buy them today with 2wd, those buying an SUV with a 4wd obviously wish to have it on purpose so they will surely be very happy to see it reviewed in a test.

Having videos in English helps with the view count. I myself can understand German a little (watching all those cartoons as a kid in German) but a lot of people would see it as an obstacle. So better for them to keep it... multilateral? :)
