american market gets cool turbo cars, you just have to look or be creative or use the 25 year import rule. In fact the late 80s had a ton of amazing awesome shit like this that you can import. Nissan S12 Silvia with FJ20ET R30/31 skylines, Lancia Delta Integrale, Ford Sierra Cosworth, etc. That's aside from the Starions and Galant VR4s and cars like that you never see people run but are amazing.

I've actually had a lot of experience with the starion and vr4 galant. They're very hard to come by though. I know importing is always an option it just cost money. It's hard to justify having a car payment on a toy lol.

Really sucks that you ended up having to get rid of it but I'm sure that with this new season that you've got something that is going to blow it out of the water. I'm a big Honda fan and the S2K was sick too but I have a feeling that whatever you've got this year will be even better. celtic125434849 I would rather have older 240sx hatchback with an sr20det motor swap instead of a S15. It would be very expensive to import a car, an engine is way cheaper. On Craigslist I found a bunch of them with the swap already done. It not really the same thing, but its almost the same without the RHD, which you could do.

On another note. I think I have the same t304 stainless steel turbo back exhaust. Sounds great on a straight 6. The little sr20det that has 180 to 200 hp stock sounds good too. Unless there's a top secret red top or black top out there that has 250 hp stock that I don't know of. Maybe the one in the 250 rs? Maybe the 400r? Just wondering. The one thing said sr20det with 250 hp. Never knew it had that. Plus that motor is good for 350 hp reliably without doing any internal work... so I've heard. So between 250 and 350 what part of the 100 hp did you gain with the intercooler, tune, and bc?

Ryan Brown the sr20det could probably get a thousand hp with enough internal upgrades but stock wise with the right ecu tune and turbo mods 350 could be handled safely on a stock sr20det s15 block

well a BOV lets the boost pressure (when you let off the gas to shift) vent to the outside air as opposed to dumping it back into the intake which will slow your turbo down.... the advantage of the BOV is when you let off to shift your turbo keeps spinning so you can get on the boost faster! when you are at full boost and you rapidly close the throttle that air has got to go somewhere! if you vent it you wont slow the turbo down as much and you can build boost faster! hope this helps!

of coarse you would have to do the exhaust, intake and engine management, as they are all engine specific. You'd have to be pretty stupid to think otherwise. You would also have to put in a new transmission as the stock one would not be capable of handling the power and torque levels that skyline engines can produce.

well yes and no... the waste gate is there to prevent over boost and regulates how much exhaust goes to power the turbo depending on how much load the engine is under. when the engine is at full boost wide open throttle and you suddenly close that throttle plate your waste gate can close all it wants to but your turbo is STILL compressing air that has nowhere to go! this can really slow down your turbo and even damage it! ill see if i can find a video that explains it better then i can

dump valve "dumps" the excess boost when you let off the throttle so that the air dosent make the turbo spin the wrong way. this means you get power back quicker when you change into your next gear. when your turbo gets to its predefined limit the waste gate lets the exhaust past and stops the pressure level increasing. the bleed valve rasises the level so you have more air pressure. you can blow up your car though as they say in the vid, i was always told it was not a good idea.

This is very true, because the car is already turbocharged its pistons are fairly strong. My comment is like you said generalised, perhaps even only for the people turning NA to forced induction. I still have seen Silvias that are running too much boost to snap con rods etc. Maybe thats just because the turbo was 'oversized' :p
