I question why after having problems with their CVT transmissions they didn’t either use ones from a reliable manufacturer, or just switch back to a conventional automatic transmission. Nissan vehicles are awful. In 2013, I purchased a loaded Altima 3.5 SV. After six months of owning the vehicle, two dealerships attempted to fix all the problems without being successful. I just gifted my nephew my Regal in January of 2024 because he needed a great car. We just did all manufacturers maintenance and not one single issue even to this day. My nephew is loving the car.

Nissan is making very good cars. The problem is not with their cars or built quality or after sales service or even their CVT as many people talk about. I had my 1st Sentra in 2015 which lot of people suggest was the worst year because of CVT problem. I've done 300,000 kms with it and had no issues with 1.8 liter engine or transmission. My second Sentra is 2020 and I've last month changed the transmission oil at 90,000 kms. Absolutely love the 2 liter engine and transmission. No issues at all. The only secret is every morning I warm-up my car for 2 minutes before I leave. That's it. Problem with Nissan is that their corporate planners are idiots. Nissan should introduce 0 % purchase financing for 84 months for their cars and suv. In case of their big suv like armada they should finance it for 120 months, yes 10 years. Otherwise, Nissan is sure to go bankrupt. Nothing wrong with their products.

I've been looking at an Altima in Oklahoma City at one of the largest dealer networks in the area. First, they charge $399.00 for tinted glass, the $699.00 for "paint protection". Then they take a "whopping" $1500.00 off MSRP. That's part of the reason people aren't buying. They're behaving like Dodge dealers, but with worse products. By the way, this ame dealer has CDRJ, Honda, Chevrolet, and a couple of others in a row. The only plus is they're up front with the pricing, other than slithering them in.

Nissan had a good reputation as durable, dependable vehicles up until 2000, but thanks to their decision to put imploding transmissions in their vehicles they nailed their own coffin shut.
