I was offered a Qashqai by Hertz at LHR. Hard pass after seeing specs, namely cargo area because I was traveling. Got a Skoda Enyaq 85 electric instead which was substantially cheaper because it was electric. It was ass too.

Reminder that not only that the Juke is still available for most other countries even after all this, Nissan forced Nismo to somehow make the Juke fast and "fun" in both FWD and AWD drivetrains. Juke GT-R is cool tho, but thats due to the absurdity if it, and its basically a super limited GT-R R35 with weird Juke body on top of it.

I was left in a situation where I NEEDED a car... I had just started a new job and didn't have the luxury of shopping around. I went to a dealer to look at a civic that ended up being a gross piece of trash. The salesman, looking to salvage the situation before I ran away to my back-up asked what I was looking for. I mentioned I wanted a smaller car. I'd prefer it to be a hatchback, but I'd settle for a sedan. My biggest must-have has a manual. He said he'd be right back, skipped away, and returned a few minutes later in a maroon 2012 Nissan Juke. I asked if he was joking, and he said it technically checked all my boxes. I drove it, and much like your friend here, I was surprised how much I enjoyed driving it. This was 2015 and I got that Juke with a little under 70k miles, and it came in well under budget. I drove it for eight years. I hit two deer with it, and the second one did it in at just shy of 190k. Taught my little brother, a co-worker, an ex-girlfriend, and a friend all how to drive stick in it. Over the years I owned it the only repairs I had to do were the front wheel bearings (One of them twice.) and replacing the muffler after it rusted off. That's probably more Ohio's fault than the Juke's. Outside of that just brakes, tires, and oil changes. I used to defend my purchase, talking about how I was in a tough spot, and it was a good deal. I used to joke that I couldn't see how ugly it was from the inside. I loved my Juke. That was a great little car.. And honestly.. I grew to love the way it looked even. I think the rear 3/4 view if especially handsome.

Any time I see one of these Eldritch abominations on the road my day is instantly ruined. which is everyday. The Juke is the official Karen car. you see them poorly parked at Sainsburys with the owner trying to cram the shopping in the pathetically small boot. Or in front of you at a drive thru arguing with the poor underpaid staff because they took too long to make her cappuccino. If the Juke had a starter pack it would definitely include a "baby on board" sign. No doubt the child has an Ipad no less than 2 inches away from their face. Removing the typical owner from the picture what are you left with. a hideous designs that looks like a 370z from a certain 2000s tv show about obese people, a terrible quality interior with creaky plastic hammered together by Sunderland's finest. and for the size of the bulbous monstrosity you get worse practicality than a typical hatchback. and not to mention the uninspiring choice of engines and manual gearbox. As for the CVT ones enough has been said. and no the Nismo version does not make the Juke cooler. Id rather have a Micra Nismo. The Juke to me represents every thing wrong with modern car designs. in conclusion, Bad Vehicle 0/10

This episode hit home. You clearly didn't like it, but I used to have a 2014 Juke Nismo 6-speed. This episode brought back memories. Bought it with 7k miles on it back in January of 2018. I was 29, about to turn 30 later that year. For me, it was my last (unconscious) attempt to hang onto my youth. I was still single, lived by myself, and work was going great. I had a blast when I had that car, a lot of memorable trips taken. Definitely not the most comfortable car to take extended drives in with those alcantara seats, but I did not care. Then the pandemic hit, and looking at that car parked in my garage, with literally nowhere to go, was my sad, daily reminder of all the fun I couldn't have. Then in October of 2021, I had made a short trip to my local Target to pick up a few things, and on my way home, an elderly woman failed to yield on an unprotected left turn. I ended up colliding with the passenger's side of her 2015 Ford Taurus. I walked away from that crash with minor injuries, and a short stint in physical therapy for my lower back, but that was unfortunate end of my Juke. It had a stupid name, and a look that only a mother (or in my case, a father) could love, but in the time I had it, I had a blast driving it. Good times.

Same here, 2016 Juke owner here unfortunately in my country they don't offer Jukes with Manual Transmissions nor turbo variants of it only CVTs. I still daily drive my Juke and have really fond memories with it up to this day. Yes it is ugly but she's a fun car to drive especially on the mountains in my country, very light steering, has enough HP but not enough torque, I daily drive my Juke since its cheaper on petrol/gas and I don't want to daily drive my R33 GTS25T since Im afraid that i'll lose the magic of owning a Skyline So Juke is my daily and she's fun af to drive

The Nissan Juke fell distinctly in the "could be worse" category. Everyone said they wanted something cheap, turbocharged, manual transmission, with 4-doors (because everybody wants but nobody buys coupes). Nissan delivered but bodged the styling. Everybody laughed and then Nissan hit us with the Kicks. Now the cheap car has no manual, no turbo, and no personality at all. We had it good with the Juke, we just didn't know it.

I know a few Juke owners. They were all women, and bought it because they liked the way it looked. In short, it’s got the same appeal as a VW Beetle, Mini Cooper, or CJ/TJ Jeep, minus the history and price tag of any of those brands. And yeah, I know. I think it looks like a pug. Here in Italy you can see thousands of them, but somehow if I have to think if I know someone that owns one my mind goes blank. Also since most of them have tinted windows so you don't even see the driver. Jukes are such NPC cars, no one drives or ownes them, they just spawn in traffic for making it worse or on parking lots for making them more crammed. And not seeing the driver of this one just reinforces my belief that this car just spawned in front of you.

Fun Fact: I've been rear ended 3 times waiting at a red light by Nissan Jukes. One of those was a manual and during the usual swapping info, waiting for the LEO we got into a convo about how cool that was. I had no idea there was a manual Juke for the USDM. The weird clutch is because of the Renault drivetrain. Almost all Renault manuals after 2000 feel like it. I've heard tightening the clutch cable makes it better. Also it really is a terrible clutch to learn with, but once you get used to it, it makes stationary traffic way more comfortable.

I had a 2012 6 MT with a intake ,exhaust , manual boost controller , and I added as much fuel as possible when I tuned it when I worked at a nissan dealer. It ran low 12s in the 1/4, wound up flipping it in an accident where the juke was unrecognizable and I survived with just rods and pins in my back .

I have a 2011 loaded AWD Juke. Bought it new because it looked like a frog. 140k miles. Very little trouble. A couple of bad ignition coils at 130k. Otherwise, zero problems. I love my juke. The stock stereo is great with 300 watts and a subwoofer. And the best part is that you can see your front running lights from inside the car. Totally ridiculous design and that’s why I love it.

Very nearly bought one in 2019 for my partner when we were looking for something cheap and funky to mess with, because I didn't want to spend any money potentially ruining my Evo. We looked at maybe four or five Nismo RS Jukes (210+ hp oooooh) over the course of two weeks, and every single one had something wrong or go wrong while we were seeing the car, despite them all having fairly low mileage. One had a hacked up harness in the rear. Another one had moldy seats and belts. And right before we were going to test drive the last one, we nearly got snowed in at the dealer. Seeing the storm roll in and narrowly escaping it, we took refuge in a grilled meat restaurant and mulled over what we went through. We took it as a sign to give up, so we did. That night, I found a clean Abarth 500 on CL with low miles and a desperate seller. We went to see it after the snow cleared, bought it on the spot, and stumbled upon what would become one of our favorite cars. My partner loves it dearly and will probably never let it go. So, in a way, thank you, Nissan Juke, for teaching us never to settle (for you) and to always keep searching for better cars and brighter days.

My wife had a 2011 Juke Turbo with a manual. It was completely stock. I can assure you, they feel shockingly quick with no mods. The reason is simple, and it explains the MPGs as well... It has more power than it needs, and it's geared low. Off the line, it's surprisingly fast. But on the highway, it's wound up like a car from the 60's, and drinking fuel like one too. I "raced" an old Mustang GT, and the Juke kept up. It didn't won, but it didn't lose, either. I think it shocked the pants off the Mustang guy, and I couldn't stop laughing. We sold that car for $6500. She misses the power, and how fun it was to drive, but she DOES NOT miss the premium fuel vanishing into a black hole every time she filled it. Her Corolla is zero fun, but far more practical. We will get something fun for her again eventually.

I met a really cool guy with a datsun 240 and he mentioned his wife had a juke nismo with the 6 speed. They took it to tail of the dragon and it was able to keep up apparently. I wasn't even aware that these existed until then, and have not thought about its existence once since that conversation until now.

My mechanic told me never buy auto(cvt) Juke, he said it's a miracle if the cvt's make it to 100,000km and they cost thousands to replace when they do break

It’s cheaper to just swap for a low mileage transmission or swap the transmission with one from a different car with an adapter plate to match. No one has done it yet but a DSG swap from a Mk7 Golf GTI/R to any one of these would work so many wonders in its favor. Especially if it’s an AWD model.

They sell this in the UK as the Juke Nismo. I haven't figured out the mentality of someone who buys a Juke Nismo. It was a teeny bit controversial because the Clio 4RS with the same engine only got an autobox and this got a manual. Then Ford came out with the Mk7 Fiesta ST and ate everyone's lunch anyway.

It's because so many new vehicles are over stylized, aka ugly. So this isn't so bad by comparison. I'm the same way with the first gen Venza. Thought they were ugly when new, but are tame by 2025 standards.

I've always liked these. I think they struck just the right balance between unique and over-styled. The Hyundai Kona reminded me of the Juke when it first came out, but for me that went past the over-styled mark and looks like two cars stacked on-top of each other.

I hated the Juke when they came out and were seemingly everywhere. And then they were all gone. CVT failure, I'm guessing. Now when I see one, I get excited. Yeah, they're ugly, but they're very distinctive. And Nissan was at least willing to take a chance on something different.

For some Reason these are a rather common Sight here in Germany. I even saw 3 Nissan Juke NISMO Versions this Year alone. Don't ask me why, i have no Idea. That said, you Guys should come visit Germany sometime in the Future, lots of over all weird Cars but also Cars that are normal here you should review like you did in the Past in the UK and New Zealand and the upcoming Australia.
