That is absolutely not true. Most of the dealers in my area are ordering in S versions of the new Kicks. I can't even find an SR with a moonroof, and they only have a few SV versions. And the older SV or SR Kicks was not $20,000, and they did not sell many S versions. Everyone wanted SV or SR. The price also went up from 2023 to 2024 on the same, original model, partly because Nissan dealers in my area added on all kinds of crap to up the price. They did not do that when I bought my 2023 SV. All they added were mud flaps and floor and cargo mats when I bought my car. I do agree with you that the price went up, but it does have more features than the older models, features everyone insisted they wanted: AWD, a fold-down cup holder in the back, a panoramic moon roof, a 12-inch screen, an all-digital screen for the safety features, etc. I, personally, liked the lower price on my car. I have been waiting for the E-power version to finally make it to the U.S. as long as it works in the cold weather. The person below me that says the car is $40,000 does not know what he is talking about. He just made-up figures. But AWD and panoramic roofs are expensive on any car. I have done fine without AWD, and I live in the snowy Mid-West. People want all the features of a luxury car, but they don't want to pay for them. Many are still complaining the new Kicks does not have a power seat adjustment and a power rear-hatch door, and vents to the back are extra and only on SV models if I remember correctly. They want great gas mileage, but they want a car that goes 0-60 in six seconds. They want a turbo, but they want reliability. In short, people are irrational and can never be satisfied. It is pointless to try to satisfy them.

I’m shopping for an SR with premium package right now. There are tons of S trims, but in the whole city of Las Vegas where I live, there are only about 4 or 5 SR’s available fully loaded with moon roof. That’s between 4 dealerships. Looking at one tomorrow in the gun metal with red roof…..not my first choice, but, it’s got everything for 30,025. I already have a 2016 Maxima, and the Kicks SR has all the same safety features and then some, many nice luxury touches in the interior, and some very nice tech. So no automatic seat adjustment, back seat a/c vents….and no 300HP like on my Maxima, but I’m not buying the Kicks for speed. For an entry level car, you get a lot of bang for your buck. I don’t blame Nissan for keeping up with industry standards in their pricing. The car is still a good deal in an S trim. But if you want premium features, 30k is very reasonable in my opinion.
@Jan961063 ай бұрын
@@suz702 That is reasonable. In my area the price on the fully loaded, even without moonroof, is more than that. That's a good deal. And I like the gun metal with red roof. It makes the car look more expensive, more upscale. Yellow makes it look sporty. Good luck on your purchase. I have been happy with my Kicks. The trick is to accelerate slowly. It picks up speed faster as long as you don't try to gun it like most reviewers do. But it will be a bit change from 300 HP. I get excellent gas mileage, from 40-48 on the expressway, 29-36 around town.

@@Jan96106 well….me and the hubby headed over to the dealer and bought that Kicks SR yesterday. First of all, I’m really blown away by the car, it’s just fantastic! When we got to the dealer, the car ended up being gun metal with a gun metal roof so bye bye red roof, that was a little disappointing, however, the gun metal is metallic and really sparkles😁 To me the power of the car is just fine, merging on to the expressway like a champ. In fact, the ride reminds me of a 2007 Sentra I had that I just loved. We ended up paying 32k and change out the door. The dealer adds on a package that includes tinted windows, door guards, cup guards and wheel cover locks for 2k more, we negotiated it down to 699.00. Overall,we were satisfied with the deal. Suddenly I see a bunch of Nissan hate videos. I just bought the 2025 Kicks SR trim in the Artic Ice Metallic color and it is beautiful. The redesign is great, the new interior is great, and I got the all wheel drive just because it will come in handy if we have inclement winter weather. I am 54 years old, so I think the car works well with me. I am not traveling on the interstate, but instead just around town. I am five minutes away from my job. Now, this probably isn't the car for you if you are looking for speed, doing Interstate travel, etc. It honestly depends on where you are in life and what your needs are. This is not a bad car at all, but it is not targeting everyone. Do your own research and consider your own needs before purchasing. If you don't, then that is your mistake, not Nissan.

US$27,000 in 2024 money is equivalent to US$22,000 in 2019. Nissan has been pricing their cars too cheaply in North America for years. Since Nissan's US dealerships are fairly incompetent, they've been offered so much incentives, which nearly wiped out Nissan's profits in Apr-Jun 2024 quarter. While US inflation increased by 20% in the past 5 years, Nissan hasn't raised their cars enough to keep up with increasingly expensive labor, components, materials, infotainment, sensors, cameras, software, etc. To be honest, it's still a few thousand dollars lower than where it should be.
