l y m a x that’s like comparing apples to airplanes... The RB series of engines goes back to the early- to mid-80s, the Barra is maybe a decade old. If it wasn’t for Japanese (and European) straight 6 engines, would the Barra have come this far from the original EA engines?

​@@Straight6T You may as well say that the RB series of engines would not have existed if the original, twin overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, hemispherical combustion chambered, Peugeot racing cars of 1912, yes 1912, did not exist. None of the technology is new, even turbos are quite old, the difference is that the Ford Barra is available here for very little money and you can mod it to get 1000+ HP at the back wheels using a standard factory block, heads, cams etc. a few minor mods to the top end, ECU, injectors, big turbo, new custom crank, rods, and pistons. Can be street registered and drive it as an around town car. Did I mention, super available and cheap as.

I read somewhere that skyline refers to the chassis style or suspension style, i forget which it was, either way it makes sense since the g35 was technically a skyline which is weird.

You're a fuckboi it’s just a line/name of cars that comes in all sorts of configurations from coupes, sedans, compacts, station wagons etc. it’s only relatively recently that the top of line flagship sports car, skyline gtr separated from the skyline family of cars and into its own line simply as the gtr.

You're a fuckboi yes V35/G35 is just a rebranded car and not a skyline in North America. That car and the skyline series is not very special at all. People get off on the skyline name but it’s nothing like the GTR. R32/R33 GTST’s and R34 GTT made for ok drift cars but still worlds apart from the GTR.

DamnDaniel Kozo Hoshino. The R33 was the last best GT-R. The R34 was a disappointment. 27 seconds slower than the R33, heavier, and is overrated as hell. People say the R35 is overrated and the R34 is best. But, R34 = R35. Both are heavy computers on wheels. Both overrated.

For a mostly stock clean(damn near factory new kinda clean) skyline GTR r34 50k-90k is what you would expect , however in parts of canada where your closer to the ocean its possible to get a better deal, i was looking at a 2001 skyline GTR for sale in ontario and asking price was 67k(plus some other fees but the car did have around 120,000km two (japanese)owner before it was imported and the only modifications were done due to them not being able to source some replacement parts(timing belt, air filter and a couple other odds and ends but no major performance parts) then i came across another ad for another skyline GTR ruffly the same but for about 20k less and one hell of a road trip out to Vancouver....all that said it is also good to note that the cost of all of the old JDM sports cars is going up, buddy of mine was considering selling his r32 GTR and he would have made more money off of it then he paid for it(i believe he said he paid 8k-9k for it after importing fees and he had gotten offers for 22k)

Please could we do an up to speed about the rules and history of Le Mans? Absolutely love the show and the interest it has spiked in me for car history and culture. I would love to know what the specification requirements are for the 24Hrs of Le Mans vs the production vehicles which the manufacturers create. I would also love to know about the historical and current impact the 24hrs of Le Mans has had on production vehicles vs the impact Formula 1 has had on production vehicles if that comparison is even possible.
