Thanks I'm going to do this, my truck has just over 200k miles, I'm the 2nd owner got it with around 120k so I've never done this for fear of messing it up but now I see that's it's an easy process. Thank you.

Hey there , I just got a titan pro4x , it has 129 k miles but seems to be holding up nicely. Since you are an owner of this type of truck what are your thoughts about it longevity ? So man KZbinrs seem to think that titans are crap but I wonder if they have sponsorship with competitors ?what are your thoughts ?
@RONNIEJNZN Жыл бұрын
a good tip for bebinners also is 2 or 3 lengths ,4 inch or so threaded rod , wood dowels will work too, same thread as the cover bolts. put them in and slide cover up to diff. less chance of side slipping the silicone

This Titan aluminum cover will fit the M226 axle on a Frontier. I installed a new cover on my 2023 Pro4x Frontier and use the LubeLocker gasket. It works great.

My 2006 had a lot of metal in the grease my 2013 was real clean it also has a lot of throttle delay when starting out most of the metal in the 06 comes from the spider gears.

Just had my 2010 serviced @ 130k. Not sure if it was ever done. They told me when they pulled the plug it was full of metal gunk on the plug. All they did was drain and replace fluid. Should I do this procedure and spray for the extra gunk to save the rear end or am I doomed?

If your diff isn’t leaking is it necessary to take the cover off and do this or just drain and refill ??
@adamprice87572 ай бұрын
Just drain and refill is sufficient. However, if it’s your first time servicing, and you don’t know the history, good idea to take off the cover so you can clean out any junk and inspect and put a new gasket on yourself

Aaron do you have any exhaust manifold recommendations for the Titan?
@dateatorjr96716 жыл бұрын
I just did this service a couple months ago. I have the steel cover and there were no tabs. Its a good time to check the diff breather while you’re there. Mine was caked full. I also replaced the brake line while I was there. NY winters suck.
@AaronHinesAuto6 жыл бұрын
Man that’s a bummer about the brake line, in AZ we don’t see a lot of rust. Those breathers are horrible. I also have a steel cover on my personal Titan. (04)
@dufus22734 жыл бұрын
@@AaronHinesAuto The aluminum case cover was added in '06 i think . Mine has it and it's an 06. The alum. cover was added to alleviate an overheating problem in the diff. It's not there to look good, but it does. Heat was building into the diff and foaming or whatever. Plus it is a small capacity gearbox. Axle seals were a problem too. If you tow on a regular basis , get an alum. cover. My two cents great video Aaron

Great video Aaron, one question for you....I have a 2004 Titan, 80,000 miles...My owners manual says SAE 80W -90 viscosity...but you say SAE 75w - 140 synthetic....was there an update from nissan saying use a heavier oil...or does it matter.....Thank You
@bubblehead76802 жыл бұрын
If you notice, it has that number on the diff cover.
@PRO4XKEV Жыл бұрын
80-90 is for the front diff, but 75w-90 can be used no issues. Rear can use a 75w-90 with no issues, but if you tow with your truck than 75w-140 is best.
@Po7ent4 жыл бұрын

I was driving my 04 titan and it started making a clanking noise in the rear. I was far from home so I kept driving. Noise went a ay after 3 miles or so. Now I’m worried. Truck is lifted and it looks like it has a after market differential. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help. Clanking noise went away but now I hear like if the brakes are rubbing against the brakes
@landfillbear3 жыл бұрын
Did you figure out what it was? I think it could be the bushing on your driveshaft. I saw a video on YT about a Nissan Titan having a similar issue where there was a clanking sound during shifts.
