You do some of the best flashlight review on KZbin. I love the comparisons but I would suggest doing another comparison to compare the spill/flood of the lights in an environment with more objects/targets. I like the extended and compressed reviews for how much information you need and time you have. Great website too! The filters make comparing flashlights extremely easy. I plan on purchasing some flashlight from you guys in the future. Keep up the great work!

+Going Gear Like putting some targets at 20 yards or less to compare the beams in an environment where edc & compact-tactical lights are used the most. Even doing a test in a large room (e.g. your store) would be a good test for these lights. Obviously this test would not be good for throw lights but for lights that are more of a flood light it would be beneficial.

Does the strobe setting always function at max brightness?

Hi Marshall. Please can you give me some info on how to change the tail rubber switch for the p10 as there are no holes inside the tail caps like all other torches have. Thanks in advance.

Nice review! It convinced me to purchase the Nitecore P20. I do have a question though. Because I haven't seen a lot of videos for the nitecore P20. Would you guys know if the Thyrm switchback will fit the Nitecore P20? I know on their website they show that it fits the P12, SRT7 etc. But I tried to get in touch with them regarding the P20, but have not gotten a satisfactory answer. I Hoping to get your feedback or insights on this. Thank you and more power!

there is also a led battery indicator on the tail cap

Are these models the only ones with the duel tail caps? Also, is there a 2016 version of these lights with more lumens and the same duel tail caps! I'm looking to buy my first high quality led flashlight and I'm overwhelmed with all the different brands and selections.

Thanks for the review! I've imported some Olights from you a few weeks ago. Fast delivery. Please mention in your reviews if the flashlights hold batteries between two springs (dual spring) or not (→ recoil). And, if flat-top batteries can be used.

Mh20 vs P20 is where I am. Need to know which you would go with.

Wow, these lights look great! Being law enforcement, I really like having 2 buttons on the tail cap for modes and strobe. Twisting the head and such like some other brands can be cumbersome while wearing gloves or trying to focus on a task or suspect.

or hitting the tail cap 15 times to get to strobe while clearing a residence...

I've had this flashlight now for six months, and it is by far the best LED flashlight I've ever owned! I love the top two brightness levels, as they are REALLY bright. And the beam is so focused that it throws quite far! Haven't had opportunity to see if the tactical flash will stun / confuse someone, but it is certainly dazzling! Love this flashlight!

Hmmm... a nice set of flash lights right there, although there is no real incentive to buy if people already own the likes of Fenix PD35, Nitecore P12 or ThruNite TN12 (2014) - I'm guilty on all 3 counts haha. Do you know if there is a successor to the XM-L2 in the pipeline for this size of flash light? (e.g. higher output/better efficiency/longer run times). Thanks.

Oh OK. Thanks again.

terratec1001 I just compared the XP-L and XM-L2 datasheets side by side, based on the numbers I expect some increase but nothing amazing really considering how human perception works. When comparing that datasheets take note that the table for XP-L lists 1.5A 2A 3A calculated luminous flux and XM-L2 lists 1A 1.5A 2A. However especially at the higher currents the forward voltage also is a little bit higher than the XM-L2 so I don't know what to say about its efficiency in that regard. A gut feeling without doing the real math tells me though that it'll probably be a slight increase in efficiency and decent increase in potential output per LED. One important other detail was very obvious though, the spatial distribution indicates it'll be less suitable for throw to me but based on die size that was to be expected really. It'll be interesting to see what is done with those LEDs when they come out, but I don't really expect a miracle. Yea lumen numbers will go up but if you know how our eyes perceive light I think it'll be a marginal increase visually. I'll hold on to my XM-L2 stuff for the time being after this matures and see how the dust settles. It might also motivate some of the competitors to deliver a similar class of product and maybe that might be more suitable.

TribunusLaticlavus Very comprehensive. Thanks for that :)

terratec1001 Well its just datasheets by the manufacturer. I'd like to see some implementations, reviews and do some practical experiments myself to be honest. Hooking them up to my lab power supply and test them at a few different temperatures and currents. Observe how the forward voltage behaves and measure the brightness from various places (to get an idea of the spatial distribution, how much light is sent straight forward and in what ratios it goes to the side) But I found Cree datasheets pretty useful in the past, especially when comparing them to other Cree products that use a similar setup in the PDF. When comparing it with a different manufacturer it can get a bit tricky because they'll use slightly different tables and graphs. But Cree ones side by side are easy to compare. Just dig the XM-L and XM-L2 pdfs up and put them on the left and right side of the screen. Compare them page by page and you'll see what I mean. It tends to be the first or second hit after putting "XM-L2" into google, just click the one that says PDF at the start and you've got it. www.cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED%20Components%20and%20Modules/XLamp/Data%20and%20Binning/XLampXML2.pdf www.cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED%20Components%20and%20Modules/XLamp/Data%20and%20Binning/ds%20XPL.pdf

I wanna know which you would recommend that has the longer throw +the one that keeps the highest amount of lumens throughout the life of the battery. The tight Hotspot Spill not necessary Would you please or could you please review the armytek barracuda ASAP please please please please please please please! " you rule so hard...so very hard"

Does the P10 lower power after 3 min at high or medium to protect from overheating? Does it automatically power back up if it cools off?
@acovan8 жыл бұрын
So for utility functions (search and rescue, patrol, tracking, it's a 290 lumen light, with a short duration turbo blast you could use for spotlighting something. You'd have to cycle through the lower settings to get there though.
