They mostly chose Pinkie Pie because they are kinda similar. Both are masters of the fourth wall breaking, both are pretty damn random and most of the characters in their respective universes have trouble understanding them completely. However, Pinkie Pie's abilities in this Death Battle are actually something only she possesses, and are not commonplace amongst all the characters. The closest character in terms of these abilities is Discord, and that's only because he's a trickster god capable of altering reality at will. All the other normal characters just don't have the abilities Pinkie does. In fact, Fluttershy asking about whether they walk back up the slide is a perfect representation of this fact

Yeah. If all the characters took cartoon logic to the extremes Pinkie does, it wouldn't be as funny. But at least Discord has the excuse of being an omnipotent, centuries-old spirit of chaos. Pinkie...has no explanation. She is merely Pinkie.

in fact, she once bear my magic, yes, but even if she was strong, i was still able to defeat her in her Chaos Princess Pinkie Pie mode by using my brain...also, Pinkie can break the 4th wall and talking to the audience, but she can't make reference, who are my specialties...Pinkie could be random as fuck, she is not the only one. She still not almost powerful as me...in a death battle, i will win for sure.

Actually there is a winner! In the exposition of both characters for Pinky they said she can befriend anybody weather they want it or not! In the end they became friends. Basically the battle ended EXACTLY the way Pinky wanted it to. So, she actually won!

This is my personal favorite. It's a joke battle and they wanted to make sure you know it. Plus, unlike many other non-bronies, I don't have anything against MlP. Through a pal of mine, who is a brony, I've come to see some impressivly good fight scenes for a slice of life-family show.

It's a great fight and a surprisingly interesting show. I used to be a toxic brony hater until a did these things: 1)Realize that we all have fandoms and interests that others don't share. Making it hypocritical and just rude to really hate someone's interest. 2)Realize it's just another cartoon like any other. It has an audience in mind but it's for everyone to enjoy. It even has some adult references and easter eggs like Doctor Who and the Big Lebowski. 3) Actually watch the show. I watched the first season to please a brony friend of mine and while I didn't particularly care for it, I could understand the appeal. Bronies aren't creeps on the internet with lewd thoughts of horses, they're fans of a show. We only hate because we only expose the negative side of things, like back when nerd culture was seen as lame for manchild virgins...which is harsh and untrue just like what we say about Bronies. Also I watched later seasons with my little sisters and found that it wasn't even a show for little girls. It's for kids around 8 and up, dealing with topics such as depression, death of a loved one, self-identity, and even being an orphan...what the hell? It has great moments like any other show and deserves respect of opinions/preferences at the very least

Using a character who can literally do anything (and I mean canonically, without breaking the 4th wall) would break death battle unless you pitted him against someone who could do the same thing. But then there'd be no real way to know who goes further in their ability to "do anything" since they're both technically omnipotent aside from show-exclusive weaknesses that the other one usually can't exploit. Fans usually pit him against Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls, though.
