I’ve only had two locations in 2000 hours of day Z where I haven’t been raided. Both of them were near the coast were most groups don’t hang out. Neither of them were in a standing building. They were all out in the wilderness. This is a great guide but everybody should be ready you will be raided

Great tips really nice locations!! The best tip I think Is the one you started with! Stash your best items and get ready cause you will be raided bases are temporary! Try different buildings every time and have fun with it! Also if you play pn console each code lock should have a different combination cause right now if you have the time it's pretty easy to break in by finding the combination

I like these base spots, but on the other hand I think one of the best ones for just being fortified is the tall green house with a double door entrance. On official I have it 4 gates to main loot. A few cons is you can't fit any tents and it's kinda cramped but it does the job. I like the base spots in the video, however I feel it's necessary to at least have 2-3 gates to your loot. It definitely repels the casual player from raiding it. I've actually tested it. My main base with four gates to everything is right next to this shed I've secured twice with a gate. The shed has been raided twice, meanwhile my main base has only been slightly melee raided but they gave up in raiding. Good spots though if you like lots of tent space.

As a solo player you should stash your most important stuff in improvised shelters the green stick kinds in thick woods along paths not treaded, and if you do build a base you should just have an outpost vs a base ie you have one gate in a hidden place just to drop gear off and continue to loot then move gear to your shelters spread around

@@Nitno Yup watched that one and it was good info! Just figured it may be a cool idea to see what methods are feasible/ fastest to accomplish as a solo player. I feel like solos are less likely to have bases, so what is your best go to carry item once you stumble upon a base.. etc etc. Kind of hard to explain the idea

The Mayor building in Novo (The tall building you were using sights to look at in the video). You can secure the stairwell (ignore the lobby area - too much hastle to block off) with 1 gate and block off the other door with a wall or gate. That will give you 8 large rooms and 1 very large open plan room at the top of the building. Plus you can climb the ladder up the spire to make a stash. Further still you can make a snipers nest in the tippy top of the spire.

Any plans to do similar videos with mods like BuildAnywhere? I feel like it opens up an immense amount of variability with bases, and extremely clever use of gates/walls to keep things sealed off. Would love to see your take on it (provided you enjoy and play servers that have it). Also would love a video from the other side, how would you go about raiding or parkouring into poorly constructed bases (both normal and BuildAnywhere / BBP).

I’m a new player working towards building a base with a lock on it. I’ve had a hard time managing inventory while trying to stay alive as well as collect all the resources. Solution: I’ve built an improvised tent deep in the forest in a clump of dense trees that the stick tent blends into perfectly. Have to literally run into it to find it. I store all my building mats here while I search for more and don’t need to worry as much about dying with it all on me. 1 rope, 54 short sticks and 4 long sticks is all you need. You can make rope by combining 12 rags.

Really hope they overhaul thr building mechanics and placements. The 1 size fits all is pretty poor, and should be able to nowadays build to fit doorways properly or board up windows etc. Also the gates swinging thru object and walls is poor

As a solo player i find the yellow double story bujlding with the oven on the ground floor pretty good. After you open the door i can fit 8 gates in that beast. So its going to cost people to get in , all my good loot i have in a hard to stick shealth ,

You can, at least on PS5, close the gates by interacting with the other (not hinged) post of the gate; that way, often, you don't have to run to get away in time before the gate closes.

Tip: if you’re going offline in your base, you can set tripwires at the top of stairs, in doors, etc. to let them raider know you can fight while sleeping.

Ah yes, sorry those are what they are labeled as in the in-game files. Everyone has their own names for the buildings, some more agreed upon than others. So I went with the file names.

Lots of nails and ive seen lots of bases on the new Vanilla Community PC Server called Default DayZ Active Admins/Build Anywhere. It's like an official vanilla server, but a community ran one.

I gave up on wasting time trying to make a secure base. Now I just have a watchtower with 15 tents and 11 crates full of gear, food, water, and tools for anyone on the server to grab if they need it. 4 crops, plenty of water too. My valued weapons and armor are buried and have never been found. I've only been killed twice, shot in the back, scared the crap out of me but it didn't bother me. When I die I just kill myself until I spawn at a lighthouse where I have three tents in the woods that have never been found that contain gear for five survivors. I grab my gear, run three towns over to my tower, see what my killer took and simply replace it all for others to find. It's built right by a prison and a helicopter crash site that spawns a lot so the loot is top tiered. Both times I was killed the person only took what was on my person and just a few other things, so only solo players is my guess. In every game I play I'm a hoarder, I'll never use 99% of what I loot so it's a win win for me, get to help others and they help me unknowingly by giving me space to put more gear in. Official US NY server, if you're crossing the water from the prison to the road go up the big hill to the lighthouse with the shack and outhouse by it, look east and I'm right in those woods. No defenses or strings attached, anyone is welcome to take whatever they want....just don't kill me if I'm working on it, that scares the bejesus out of me 😂 before crossing the street to the hill look at the small shack to your right, I maintain a crop there for people to grab peppers before swimming to the prison. If you see that crop you're on the right server. There's also a crop behind the shed as soon as you get to the prison shore with the docks and a tent on the back of the prison I keep stocked with food, water, and medical supplies if you get in a pinch, directly behind the biggest building, the actual prison. Just go down the hill, it's between two very obvious trees right on the coast. Oddly enough that tent is the one I constantly need to refill, so I know that one helps a lot of people. I have this setup mirrored on three US NY servers, so it should be pretty easy to find one of them. It only took a few weeks to set all of it up, but it's a never ending grind keeping them stocked, which is exactly how I like to play games like this. Side note. Something I've come to learn with looting is that the gear I loot after dying always spawns better than the time I looted it before. When I started this I was only getting shotguns and skorpions with some meh armor. Now I'm getting worn pistol suppressors, night vision gear, backpacks that hold 90 items, the best vests in my opinion (right under plated tier), tactical and combat, bizon smgs, aks, pioneers, two named handguns, and even the weird ammo clips the bizon smg needs to fire. Basically every time I loot that prison the gear seems to get better.

if you run at a door or gate and spam open and shut .. u can run through the object .. so u can stack like 40 doors in a row and u can spam run through each one with quickly open then shut them ..
