Man, the balloon was in one of the old rc car action magazines as a tech tip. Before enclosed receiver boxes, and receiver covers, thats what you did to keep dirt and water out. There were no waterproof receivers back then. So the balloon with silicone in the neck, then a ziptie. Good to go.

I’ve got a bunch of switches. I will send one over if you need it. I’m gonna try to get my buddy to give me his old 4tec. I’ve seen it in his garage for years but it’s never moved so I might have a chance actually. Sickening bro take care 🤙

The chassis on that yokomo looks sweet reminds me of my racing onroad kits
@hybrid3249410 ай бұрын
Hey man! You're totally correct on that, this was in fact a multiple time IFMAR winning chassis. Sure mine is the RTR model, but still got that chassis race pedigree!! Engine is'nt even dead, lol!!

Apple cider vinegar works to remove rust also I'm sure it's not as God as this but I can't get that where I live. I just restored my 12yrs old Hobao Nitro cage buggy and she is all sweet now it's looking brand new.
@hybrid3249410 ай бұрын
hey my friend!! That is a very good point on the Apple Cider Vinegar, I hope others will see your comment and take note. In reality trying to repair the old rusty screws is not something I do much, I generally just replace with modern screws for screw kits and its just fine. Congrats on that HOBAO buggy, the cage one is not one I've ever had.

I already got the new 2-minute timer ready for tomm's stream dude. Now I just need to think of a topic and something to repair, lol.

thanks my dude! This will need some work, but the engine is in good shape, the most important part, luckily...

thank you man! Appreciate your support and viewership over the years, this 4-tec will be on the road soon!

I've been looking for one, but people are selling these way too pricey and many of them are destroyed 😅
@hybrid3249410 ай бұрын
hey my friend! Thanks for checking to this video. You're right, the prices of these in normal shape are too high. Only the really poor shape ones like mine are attainable at this point it seems. It's sickening, lol. Mine will likely need about 70 bucks spent on it and it should be fine. Assuming I use my own radio gear and the cheapest servos.

I have a serious question... Traditionally we believe small engine hard to tune and start. Is this true? I targeted Xray nt18t, with 09 engine, if it runs well, it is easier to store.
@n00b24710 ай бұрын
1: you can target nt18t all you want but that rc is a collector's item that comes with a $500 price tag IF you can find one. 2: it's a 0.8cc engine and it's easier to tune. Side exhaust, a really simple design overall. 3: it is easier to store cos its 1/18 scale, but again you have slim to none chance of finding one today.
@kairosanna129210 ай бұрын
@@n00b247 thanks replying. Well I tried to avoid words like "collector" items. From you review earlier, the cheap 1/10 with vertex 18 engine is ok? The vertex engine works? I may get one of that.

You have a 3d printer now, just make your own body posts
@hybrid3249410 ай бұрын
hey dude! Well it's not as easy as that. You're correct I do have a new 3D printer but you cannot simply just print what you want without the pre-existing STL modeled files already out on the web. Making them is not a piece of cake to be honest and usually requires high skill sets and high end software.
@MikeGray-ct6hb10 ай бұрын
@@hybrid32494 your rite it definately takes sum practice. I print alot of my own parts as well, it's definately easier when u have a file u can just download and print. But u can also download fusion 360 and design your own stuff. Takes time but it's rewarding when u figure it out. Good luck, love the content!

Sorry, but I just can't find affordable .12 anywhere anymore. Brand new engine is in 150-200 range and you are lucky if you end up fishing one for 100-120 new from ebay.
