YES ! I was a spectator at my local drag strip, 1962 my 1st time watching all "hot" cars at the big end ,as it was called, bc they came from there being pushed down the track towards the starting line, it was standard procedure at that time. Not slow like on here, but 35/40 mph to get there quick, no long smoky burn outs either, had to be behind starting line.
