We where curious about Floyd, stuck a second controller for me and starting mashing buttons to find out it has a pitiful gun but has infinine ammo, so we ended up having him move Juno side to side to dodge the bosses while I shooted at them with Floyd. Those were the days...
@stetsonherrick80904 жыл бұрын
Floyd's blasters were the same stuff you used for the Pistol, but they were unlimited and you could even control your rate of fire by how fast you mash your buttons. Unlike the Pistol, Floyd doesn't have to wait for recharge after the 5-6 initial shots.

The Jet Force Kids cheat gives them the appearance they were supposed to have in-game at a certain point during development. In the beta, Juno and Vela were indeed supposed to be much younger. Ants as Pants transforms the drones into Mr. Pants, another Rareware character referenced in many different games. The last two (new) Resident Evil games had written summations of where you were at in the game during loading screens. It's unsettling to think about the amount of work and writing that went into those, that will never be seen. The only possible way to read them all, would be if someone were to move from every single minor set-piece, saving and reloading the game, just to read them.

To this day, Jet Force Gemini's orchestral sounding score remains a personal highlight in my game soundtrack collection with its profound sense of scale and evocative themes that still make me listen to it intently this day. Not certain if it's still possible, but many years back I was able to download each and every track of JFG's original score directly from Rareware's website and I'm glad they made it available for free public download when they did as no official commercial OST was ever released back then, or now, I think. Going back to Jet Force Gemini itself, this was a fantastic N64 game for me to pass my free time while being an electronic tech student back during the twilight years of the N64 and the games overall atmosphere conveyed an epic, grandiose sense of scale and exploration of each level. However, as pointed out in this video, Jet Force Gemini also began the wretched, repetitive formula of mandating each character to return to already explored levels in order for them to unlock specific paths and that became an infamous game design flaw even more heavily emphasized (I think for me and many others) in Donkey Kong 64, where each Kong character was required to unlock specific puzzles, doors and alternate pathways. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! Anyway, I still love Jet Force Gemini for all of Rare's dedication to the N64 platform and how well they utilized the hardware in what is still today a visual, musical and cinematic marvel. Though, it's been a while since its release, I wonder if the control scheme for Jet Force Gemini on Retro Replay on Xbox One has ever been updated to suit a more contemporary button and joystick layout as the last time I played it, I found the controls overly cumbersome, but then again, they weren't exactly intuitive on N64 either from what I remember.
@nickblomgren5 жыл бұрын
That reflection from the bucket of water is even more impressive when you realize it was probably made via instancing the scene. So there's two versions of that scene being rendered: There's the one that you're seeing and the other is mirrored under the character. That means if you were to take the camera and clip through the ground, you'd see the character models and room as it appears in the reflection.

There's a control setting that lets you move fully with the C buttons while aiming. It's not perfect, and takes some getting used to, due to jumping with C Up, but it does help. Then again, what you're talking about is an option on the Rare Re-play collection, so there's always that.

Well, with anamorphic widescreen, it's not that you lose picture quality, but rather it's the exact same picture quality, but it's meant to be stretched to a physically bigger size where you'd normally expect more picture quality. If you thought that was bad, the 'widescreen' in Jet Force was meant for you to zoom in on a widescreen TV, where you'd really *lose* picture quality. This was exactly why anamorphic widescreen was invented.

Rare: Gives ants ability to surrender Also Rare: Doesn't give you the ability to subdue them non-lethally, forcing you to kill them anyway. XD

Can you play Metal Arms: Glitch in the System? It's a very under-rated game with cute robots, platforming and action. I think it deserves some love

I loved this game. While clunky, everything was pretty unique. The character switching was pretty neat. What I liked the most was that the characters stayed on the planets. And nothing beats playing as the doggo.

Bionicle was SO dope!

The worst part of the tribals is: that if even one dies, you have to start all over agian. That's what made this game one of the hardest N64 games ever.

Probably by having passion in his works, and enjoying the fact that he's entertaining, informative, and down-to-earth with his videos. He's a good guy in every aspect.

Yeah, he went full time a while ago! I'd imagine that weekly is pretty reasonable for 20-30 min videos as long as you're getting footage ahead of when you're doing the video. Other than that, the most time consuming portion would be scripts and editing. I'm just glad that his focus is on actually putting out material and not going for production values that are *too* high for not much difference in the actual content *cough* JonTron *cough*

According to his Twitter, he actually had the review finished a couple days ago, but he wanted to grab footage for the Rare Replay footage, so he had to wait for it to come in, then try it out on his friends xBox one.
