In this video we install and review the tow mirrors from Boost Auto Parts, these things are loaded with just about every feature imaginable!...Huge upgrade over stock!

Steps I took for painting caps are as follows...
1. sanded with 400 grit
2. cleaned by wiping down with alcohol
3. 2 coats of adhesion promoter/primer, 15 mins between coats...waited 1 hour before step 4
4. 4 coats of base coat (MGM), 15 mins between coats... waited 1 hour before step 5
5. 3 coats of clear, 15 mins between coats
wet sand if needed at any point, I did not and it came out looking excellent!

Just installed those today on my 2011 Toyota sequoia. Like the quality looks amazing. Thank you for the detailed instructions. 🙂👍 Tip for those who will try to install them on Sequoia,- reverse light power wire is actually on the driver side very bottom black 8 pin plug solid blue wire)) took me some time to figure that out. Rest is exactly the same.

Yea absolutely….I had lights under running board that served as puddle lights when I opened doors, I have a video on the channel on how to do that…they acted just like puddle lights but lit up entire ground under truck/steps!

I just install these on my sr5 with the power fold and the same high intensity back up lights and they are awesome ! Also I decided to just go with the smoked LED running lights instead, i though it looked better then the led strip. Also, my setup didn’t come with a blue wire , evident the harness on my truck already was pre wired because it was a 2021, so it was just the white wire.

I’m looking at these gmc style row mirrors as well. I have a 2014 sr5 edition as well. The power fold works in the plug and play to your sr5? I read on the companies site that your vehicle will need to have the features already embedded OEM in order for BSM and power folding to work.

I have a 2009 Tundra SR-5, I didn't know about the company you are talking about, so I have ordered mine from Amazon and I hope they don't have vibrations as you drive down the road. Can you please check for me on the reverse connection, I believe the blue wire I need to use will be the one on the bottom instead of the one you used. As far the reverse lights, I already routed the wires and decided that I'm going to install an on/off lighted switch instead. I was going to use one of the blanks already provided, but can't find a switch that fits. So I'm going to drill a hole somewhere convenient an install a switch that already bought. Thanks.

Great video, thanks! I'm getting these for my new Tundra in the next few days and I'm trying to understand how the power fold mirrors work. I saw in another video that they folded when the guy locked his truck with the keyfob. It sounded like you said that yours fold when you press a button in the cab? I'd actually like mine to work both ways: 1) fold when I lock the truck with the fob; 2) but also be able to manually trigger folding when I'm backing into my garage, because I don't think I'll be able to get my Tundra into my garage with these bad boys extended. Can you tell me whether they work both ways out of the box, or will I need to do some custom wiring? Thanks.

Thank you!...and yea that’s a separate wiring harness...they won’t fold automatically when locking truck, there is a different company out there that sells that wiring harness you can add...I’m not exactly sure how to incorporate that into this install but I’m sure there’s a way!... thanks for watching!

Yea no prob!...anything is possible with the wiring...haha...I’ve never tapped into one of those switches but I’m sure it could be done...I would use a voltmeter and test the wiring first, and tap into the appropriate one...let me know how ya make out!

Hey man, have u ever had a problem with the blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Installed mine about 2 months ago and got an error message on the dash - contact my dealer. All other features work and when the truck boots up the right mirror BSM light lights up but nothing on left.

When I push the button to fold them in the driver’s side folds in slightly closer to the truck than the passenger side? Like 3/4-7/8 of an inch. Do u have the same problem? Thks

Hey Patrick!…absolutely love em, and definitely recommend them…vibration is EXTREMELY minimal, you would never even see it unless you’re looking for it…only happens at higher speeds but again, it’s minimal at best…quality is second to none, these are expensive but after owning them I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase them again…hope that helps!

When i tap my running light into my fuse box the same way you did from my 15amp cigarette fuse they dont turn on. I use a 5amp fuse to do my running lights.

Not at all, they’re actually slightly dimmer than the running lights on the headlamps themselves, so definitely not blinding...hope that helps!

Did you end up fuse tapping into the cargo fuse? I plan on doing the same thing. Only issue is my cargo fuse is located in engine bay on the 21 TRD pro. I still plan to run the white wire there. Any issues running off the cargo switch? I called boost and ask they said issue could very truck to truck. Issues like when enable maybe the license plates lights would come on, or like a break light or something..

So I bought the mirrors with all the bells and whistles for my 21 1794. Your video was immensely helpful. The only difficulty I’m having is with the spot lights, I’m trying to wire them into my cargo light switch. The green wire seems to be hot all the time, the violet is hot only when the switch is off…. How did you wire yours? I’m thinking I’m going to tap into the green feed and add a switch somewhere.

Do you still have your factory bumper? I added these tow mirrors and a new bumper but having trouble with getting the BSM to work since the bumper isn’t plastic anymore. Just wondering if you found a work around or maybe have a video posted you could link me ip with. Thanks again love the video and the main reason I bought these!!

Thank you, I appreciate it!!…I still have the stock rear bumper, that’s actually the main reason I never swapped it…there’s limited options out there for a rear bumper that’s compatible with our BSM, and I didn’t want to lose that feature…you could fabricate something, but it’s probably more hassle than it’s worth…sorry I can’t be more help on this one!

Thanks man, I appreciate that!…I believe the 1794 trim also has power fold but I think that’s it…if ya go with these from Boost Auto you can add the power option even if your stocks don’t have it…hope that helps!

Super video! Good work man. I have a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and it doesn’t have Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) - I assume you have that on your 2020. Question: if you didn’t have BSM, how did you add that and attach it to your boost mirrors?

Thanks Pete!…yepper, I have BSM on the Platinum, but in your case I believe it’s just an extra step of wiring…contact Boost and they’ll send you specific install instructions on where you have to tap into, if you need any help once ya get the instructions from them let me know and I’ll see if I can help!

Yeah definitely check with boost, if I remember correctly when I ordered mine I think they said you can add all of those features on even if you don’t have it stock… Let me know how you make out if you don’t mind, just so I know for my own knowledge!

Not a dumb question at all, you are correct… It will not fit without trimming a little section out to fit the tap

If I want the mirror "backup" lights tapped into my truck bed light so they come on when I open the door would I wire in the same fashion (with the same fuse), but tap into the "bed light" toggle?

Hi, I have been debating the mirrors, I have a quick question how much more forward angled visibility from the cab do the mirrors give? The Tundra's current mirrors block enough to be a bit of an annoyance. I have a 2019 Platinum. I like the mirrors and the options you have, would have asked the question on the Tundras forum... but stuff happens one get the boot :) I was a giant headache to some of the admins, still miss them though.

Hey Margaret!...yea these definitely block some of your vision from the drivers seat...they’re pretty tall so you may have a problem there...it’s not bad for me, I don’t mind it at all...but if ya think the stock mirrors block some, these definitely block more...haha

I love your video. I recently have same mirrors but in white. I ordered one with blind spot monitoring and power mirrors but my truck doesn’t have either option. If I’m stuck with mirrors can I just push them in or will I break them? Have a 2020 crew max sr5.my wiring is gray and white though instead of blue and white. Thanks for your time

Hey Jeff!…you can actually add those features to your new mirrors even though the stock ones didn’t have them…it’s just a little extra wiring…if ya don’t want to add those features you can manually fold them in without hurting anything…hope that helps!

I actually show in the video what wire ya need to tap into for the 2020’s…I can’t remember at what exact point but I zoom in and show exactly where and what wire to tap to get them to turn on when I’m reverse…hope that helps!

Love em, no complaints or issues at all!…very well built, vibration on highway is EXTREMELY minimal and you can see so much more over stock mirrors…hope that helps!

I stand corrected as far as boost auto. I actually ordered from top gear and twice I got mirrors that didn't work.....no BSM and RCTA. The boost tow mirrors look and work great, except for the feature....BSM+RCTA. I was told that the computer in my 2020 toyota tundra 1794 edition crew max. has to LEARN the new features and then the warning msgs. will stop flashing. Do you have any Idea how long this will take??? So far I had to pay for "3" R+R.....I hope the 2 features come to life soon.

When you power fold them in, does the passenger side fold in as far as the driver side? My driver’s side ticks in more than the passenger. Trying to figure out if that’s normal.

Thank you. I was also wondering what kind of bumpers. You bought. I have a camera at n windshield. I think it’s called tss and there are certain bumpers that u can’t get cause it affects the camera. For the rear I was told u couldn’t use a metal bumper because of the rear camera. Can u give me any insight into what bumpers I can get. Sorry to keep bothering u on footbal Sunday. Go bills

No prob!…I went with the Nfab MRDS in the front, I actually have install videos on it here on the channel…I modified it to fit the lights I wanted and OEM parking sensors…didn’t affect my TSS at all…there’s a ton of bumpers on the market, I also have a video on how to relocate the TSS if needed…I can link all the videos for ya if it’ll help!

Yes sir, I show where I actually tap into at the 24 minute and 20 second mark in video…I didn’t use the tail light slot, hope that helps!
