It’d be cool to see a comparison vid between nitto nomad grappler and falken wildpeak at trail! Preferably in 225/65r17 😎

you should install the Ralitek mud flaps. also maybe the nameless axle back exhaust. I did it on my 2018 forester black edition and looks and sounds great.

How’d they perform on looser sand I’m in southern NJ and we have a ton of sugar sand in our NJ Pinelands /Pinebarrens. I’m a landscape / wildlife photographer so most of my travels are lower speed exploring while off road. Thanks for any insight.

Im interested in the same setup in this video 235/65-17. What is the offset your sparco rims? With that tire size did you have any rubbing?
@decdragon Жыл бұрын
I recently switch out my stock oem for these pair and they're fairly quiet on the road. Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to test these off-road due to atmospheric river hitting California.

I'm looking for something that can withstand really rocky dirt roads. Not necessarily uneven, there's some inclined but the roads are even at least. However there's some really sharp rocks here and there, would these tires be a good choice? I was also looking at the falken wildpeaks at trails. 90% of my driving will be on road/ highway though. Once a month I may have to make a long trip into the country though. And I drive a 2010 forester btw, non-turbo. 5 speed manual, if it makes a difference
@aurelmex5469 Жыл бұрын
Hello. Please tell me what offset the wheels have. Did you have to put spacers on it? I'm thinking of putting the Nitto Nomad Grapplers 225/65 r17 on it. I have the 2014 Forester XT. Do you know the offset of the original wheels?

I have the wild peaks now, they are approaching their wear indicators, they are at 40k miles now, so their 65k warranty is ambitious at best. I am debating between these, the wild peaks again, the BFG Trail Terrain TA and the destination LE3, the le3 isn't 3pms but has siping the whole way through.

Thanks for the video. I’m picking up my first ever new Subaru coming from a Mercedes AMG, which I loved but wasn’t very capable or practical. My question to you is, should I stick with the stock yokahama geolanders for a while or immediately upgrade to the nomad grapplers? I plan to do some off roading and and getting out amongst the outdoors, but given my work schedule, I just don’t know when that’s gonna happen. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
@OverlandNomad2 жыл бұрын
If you’re not gonna be doing anything serious off-roading, stick with what you have👍🏼 my dad has the same stock tires on his Forester Sport and he still managed to get through soft sand at the beach in areas 2wd vehicles get stuck. On the other hand I wouldn’t suggest running stock tires on rocky trails where the trails east up and punctures stock tires. The All Terrains are definitely an upgrade but your stock tires will get you on simple dirt trails

All the SUV type off road tires are Pmetric .. meaning they only have a 2 ply sidewall. My Toyo All Terrains had to be replaced to to a small thorn puncture in the sidewall .. on Subaru's you have to replace all tires .. can't do just one! Was a bit of a shock to learn. But, the good news is that BFG came out with a 225/65 17"LT KO2 .. and I have them on now. These are 8 ply with 3 ply sidewalls .. the Toyo's I had on weighed 30lbs per tire .. the KO2's 40 lbs per tire .. identical sizes. 🤠

Good deal man. I keep trying to tell people the 245/65/17 KO2 is NOT the tire for these vehicles but because that's what they see that's what they do. Too heavy for zero benefit over something like the Nomad Grappler or AT Trail when considering the limits of the Forester or a Rav4 or something of that nature. And the 235/65/17 size is really the sweet spot. Almost all the clearance of the 245 without the need for spacers or offset and much lighter.
