Some days I'm sad I'm in Europe, but then I check Wayfarer's Bauble on Cardmarket and see it's still just 2 cents as it should be.

The prices in europe differ a lot from the prices in the US. but if you want to order a whole 100 card budget deck in europe its not 2 cent for each of those cards any longer, if you take in consideration that you have to order from like 10 to 15 different sellers all over europe which all take about 2-5 Euro for shipping costs, its more likely to pay 30-50 Euro for such a "budget" deck. We should try to built 20 of those decks and sell them to everyone interested in to keep the pricing of each full deck relatively low.

I have a Niv-Mizzet Reborn EDH deck, and today it dawned on me that it would be a pretty cool one to check out Mitch' s take on. It turns out, we've got right about 60% of the same idea about this deck! His is a little more cohesive and multi-layered in its approach, but mine is just a bit more pricey (in fairness, a lot of these have gone up in price quite a bit) and has a couple weird combos, one of which goes infinite

@@lachlanrussell18 I have taken that deck apart since, but if I remember correctly, there were two I was using in there. Brago, King Eternal +Aurelia the Warleader. That combo is generally a game winner, cause you can get infinite combat steps, ETB, LTB, and untap of creatures. That's definitely one I put in. The other combo would have been a sort of backup version, and I either would have used Saheeli Rai+ Felidar Guardian, or Niv-Mizzet Parun and Curiosity... I kinda think I personally was more likely to use Parun and Curiosity cause it was the first infinite combo I found as a Magic player. I was an Izzet guy from the beginning and before I knew about cEDH or going infinite or any of that, I had stumbled across Niv Parun and Curiosity by sheer blue+red enthusiasm, and it was just a sort of game winning thing I kept around as an option if things ever got bleak and I had to get heavy with it. Anyway, I know those are pretty common ones, but to the best of my recollection they were the only ones I would have used in that particular deck, since it's all about the two-color digging. Hope I helped!

Why no Mana Geode? Because it's 3 mana to play? It doesn't come in tapped, you scry 1, and it taps for any colour. I think it's a great budget mana rock.

The other 3 mana rocks can be grabbed with Niv-mizzet. Normally, 3 mana for 1 mana is not very efficient, which is why he does not run many.

Have you considered Maze's End and all the guildgates? Kinda expensive for the tutor effect but its good if you dont have any lands to play for turn as well as an alt win con if the game happens to go on forever. Also flavor win.

I have a tiana deck! She’s pretty great against aggressive strategies because I built her as a prison style deck. Long story short: none of your creatures can attack me, and I’m constantly recycling my enchantments with ETB effects every turn.

This may be a dumb question, but why doesn't Phantom Nishoba have lifelink? Isn't its ability the exact definition of lifelink, except it's phrased like a triggered ability that can be responded to.

You can enchant Phantom Nishoba with lifelink and gain double life or use strionic resonator to double the triggered ability. Primarily though I think there was a dozen plus creatures or enchantments that gave lifelink as a triggered ability before they decided in 2007 to make it a keyword static ability and didn't want to retroactively update the text like sometimes they do. Same thing with like deathtouch I think?

I know the lands that tap for one of three mana is for mana fixing but wouldn't be better to run lands like guild gates so that way you dont lose out on lands from Nivs ETB

So I have a question, I thought that cards that reduce the casting cost of something do not affect commander tax. So Urza's filter cannot help us recast Niv. Of course its still a great card that helps us cast everything else. But I wanted some clarification on this. Spells like Urza's filter only change the CMC of a card, but commander tax is not a part of the CMC. Y'all hit me up because I want to know if I have this wrong.

It's not that bad, by the time you fire it off, you generally have a decent amount of lands in my experience, but casualties of war is a decent replacement

I was suprised not to see Leyline Prowler or Draconic Disciple. I know Mitch hates 3 mana ramp spells but being able to get them off Niv seems to outweigh that.

Surprised that either standard for the deck or as an upgrade option Dragon Arch isn't part of the festivities, it's only a couple bucks NM. Quicksilver amulet could work but it's more expensive and since every creature in the deck is multicolored it wouldn't help more than the Arch.
