I appreciate the whiteboard explanation as the accumulator part is new to me. I paid up and put a Magnus on mine which is just a line lock solenoid and a flow control valve. I struggled big time with it even on the loosest setting to the point that I removed it and inspected the clutch. I have a pressure sensor in the line now for a baseline to compare if I decide to try the Magnus again but may try something else. I would have liked to seen instructuons with it even though its fairly straight forward.

Calvin, I love the methodical approach to the issue. I imagine more parameters could be factored in (clutch temp, air temp, relative humidity, color of your socks, etc.☺)...

Torn up gear set. One reason IMO to use a Ford 9" rear end. Disconnect the driveshaft. Pull the Axles part way out. Pull out the Pinion and Ring Gear Carrier. Fish all the debris out. Yada, yada, yada. In the heyday of the TransAm series ALL the major teams were using Ford rear ends. Not so much because of the durability so much but because they could have different gear ratios for fifferent tracks and changing them out once the lash and tooth engagement was set up (on the bench) was a lot faster. Funny story. I worked for AMC/Chrysler for over thirty years. Sometime in the 70s AMC had excess capacity in their Axle department. Ford contracted them to make ring and pinion sets for econo boxes. When the first sets came off of production to Ford specs they were setup in an inspection machine to lash and engagement specs. Howled like hell when run. Ford engineer thought they sounded pretty good. The machine next to that one had a set of AMC gears in it. Running it was a nice smooth low frequency hum. The Ford guy said, "oh thats alright we'll just put more noise insulation in". The difference. We ran all our gear sets through a lapping operation. Ford didn't. Gear teeth were cut on the exact same type of gear cutters. Gleason Hypoid type. And all Ring and Pinion sets will normally have at least one if not both gears cut with an odd number of teeth. This gives the maximum number of tooth engagements before the same two teeth mesh again. Also have

That definitely looks like the best system of the ones you described, very nicely designed. I wonder if it would work to have the solenoid valve open at a set wheelspeed - unless you change your gearing, I think you'd want to fully engage the clutch at pretty much the same speed to keep the engine at a good RPM. Obvously that amount of time will change depending on how hard you take off, so if you're just using a timer you'd have to adjust that alongside adjusting the accumulator valve thingy. Might not work in practice but who knows, I wish I could test it!

Great video as usual. For the more basic kits, you can install an easy to adjust clutch pedal stop , then you can simply push the pedal to the floor ( stop) . When the last yellow light comes on you side step the clutch, the bleader valve regulates the apply speed thus the time it takes for the clutch to take up, this provides consistency and progressive application of the power . You won't have trouble with roll out as theres no drag on the clutch provided the clutch pedal stop is adjusted correctly.
