Now that I've completed my Bloomburrow set review, it's time to take a deep dive on the set's two-color archetypes! IN this video I breakdown the various synergies in each color pair, and take a look at the card's that best support them.

What’s also really important for the Valiant decks is gonna be getting repeatable enablers like Brave-Kin Duo, Thistledown Players, Brambleguard Captain, Raccoon Rallier, and Short Bow.

I think that efficient interaction is going to be very important because of your point. Boros looks to be strong and aggressive but not necessarily unbeatable. Just gotta clip its wings by taking out the repeatable sources of Valiant before playing something big and dumb to gunk up the board

In your draft videos, you've mentioned numbers for buildarounds (e.g. 7-8 token producers for Tangle Tumbler or 5-6 non-creature permanents for Builders Talent). Think you could do a Saturday video explaining how you calculate these numbers?

For the Black White bats there is also Sinister Monolith that deals damage to opponents and you gain life at the begining of combat. It is a tad pricey at 4cmc but if you have the righf bats down on it's first turn it could trigger tons of their effects.

I’m considering playing MTG:A for the first time. I have noticed some cards mention more than 2 players is 3+ player matches common in MTG

Nah right now Arena is only two player; cards that mention opponents are just for in-person gameplay (like commander)

dont, play in person. Arena is an absolute mess and money sink. If you're not an extremely experienced MTG player it can take up to 6 months or more to accrue enough wildcards to build a competitive deck if you're a free to play player. Not to mention you have to build your decks very specifically in Arena or the shuffler will screw you over big time. you'll also be forced to play ONLY the top 3/4 meta decks if you want to play and not just lose all the time. Fun and/or jank decks are punished EXTREMELY hard. Just save your stress and play in person with paper. Better people, way more fun.

Going to a prerelease with some friends on Friday! This is the first set I've been excited about for a while. MH3 was cool mechanically, but Bloomburrow feels like it has so much heart compared to what we've been getting. Thanks for the videos as always Nizza :)

I think Brightblade Stoat is an important card for the UW fliers and non fliers deck, it's the best cheap card to put buffs and counters on. Problem is you're competing with WB and WR as it's good in those too

Green white and red white seem quite strong given the aggro potential. Simic looks a lot of fun to play and with the right rares could be reasonably strong as well.

Maybe its just me, but i wold be interested to see a set with monocolor focus for once. Has that even happened before (outside of theros devotion maybe)?

Pre Ravnica themes where very mono colored. Ravnica was a major shift for Magic in emphasizing 2 color themese. Before you played two colors but they where complimentary to each other and not a single theme. As said Ravnica changed things to where 2 color paired theme became a heavy emphasis.

@@memnarch129 so it realy has been a while, i think it would be a nice change of pace for a set. Also since monocolored edh decks still seem on the lower end of the powerscale, thats where they could push them a bit (if only in the seemingly required precons).

@@Shimatzu95 While I agree with you that it would be nice to see a change of pace every now and then, there is a good reason the current dual color limited style has kept for so long. In limited in particular, the monocolored decks tend to make the environment quite stale and repetitive. In draft in particular, it can easily become a pain when one of the colors is more strong than the others, which leads to non-flexible draft strats where you cant really pivot to other colors without having a sub-par deck.

@@claudio3431 fair enough, i guess unless there is also a colorless/artifact theme or a abundance of hybridcolor or dualfaced cards with diffrenent colors on each side(strixhaven deans for example) it could end up stale quite easily.

Another issue is a lack of cross-viability and variety. With 10 2-color pairs, a mono-color common is viable in 4/10 decks. If you have mono-colored themes, any given card is only playable in 1 deck. Plus there are only 5 possible themes rather than 10. That being said, they have had some sets that had more emphasis on mono-color. Throne of Eldrain had the Adamant mechanic, where you got an extra benefit if you used 3 of the same color mana to cast a spell. There was also a cycle of legendary creatures with 3 pips of the same color in the casting cost

This set looks kinda balanced, I think the winrate differences are going to be from trivial things like a single extra toughness on a common that stops most aggro curves. As every deck is some kind of an aggro
