To all non-Finns: Bobrikov was the general-governor of Russian occupied Finland in the beginning of the 1900's. Basically the head of state that tried to force the russification of Finland. He was shot by a Finnish nationalist in 1904. Finland gained independence 13 years later in 1917 and was attacked again in 1939 when this song was wrote.

Valitettavasti en muistanut enkä löytänyt sitä netistä. "raklyaty poprikoff" - "kirottu Bobrikov", joten venäjäksi suomalaisella aksentilla suomalainen taksinkuljettaja Pietarissa 1900-luvun alussa moittii tässä kirjassa hevosta. Joissakin venäläisissä kirjallisissa teoksissa en muista kumpi. Luin neuvostovuosien kirjasta. Tekstin kommenteissa kerrottiin yksityiskohtaisesti, millainen konna Bobrikov oli. Yritti tuhota suomalaisen kansallisen identiteetin. Olen iloinen, että hän ei onnistunut. Kunnioitus Venäjän suomalaisille!

Before the Russian invasion of their tiny country the Finn's fought a civil war against their own communists or "red army". Hence the name Finnish White Army. If the communists of Finland won they probably would have become a puppet of the Soviet Union as it was it resulted in the invasion and near obliteration of Finland by Stalin. This is why they allied themselves to Germany during the Second World War to retrieve the land the Soviets took after their invasion. The brave Finn's are in no way to be confused with German's during the Second World War because of their uniforms.

On Paper and in Reality was the Winter war in the End a success and Victory for Finnland: It had ca. 70000-100000 Men and Soviet Union Over 1 Million Soldiers and they had infinite number of Soldiers, Tanks, Aircraft and Artillery what Finnland not had. But Finnland killed more Men on soviet Side then the Soviets did:300000-400000 Red Army Soldiers were dead....and the Magin Gunner of the Finns became a Trauma because they killed so many Soldiers so easily. The Glorious Red Army (do you know the song Red army is the strongest? I think this war give us a other Eye perspective ) should had andvance and take Helsinki in 3 Days ordered Stalin. Well the War last for over 1 Year and not 3 Days and they even dont came near Helsinki. It was a complete Soviet disaster. Well most Russians today say just: "We won and take land from Finnland." But thats not all of it and thats just a excuse for them. Finnland Today remember and celebrate this War because for them it was a War of Patrioism, Heroic and deffend their Independence and Freedom. Well when you speak about the winter war in Russia, you would be lucky if the People just ignore you.... It could be go worse.... You know the Russians :)
