After playing the game, a few of the cars sound really good, a lot of the cars sound average, and some of the cars straight up sound inaccurate. For example, the Skylines sound great, the Jesko sounds spot on, and the Aventador sounds the best yet, in my opinion. Unfortunately, even with the select cars with good sounds, all these cars suffer from boring interior sounds. I hope there's a sound update to overhaul the sounds of these cars at some point. One of the things I will praise from PG with FH4 was the constant sound updates for the cars, and the quality that was brought with them.

They nailed the Sesto Elemento interior sound perfectly in FM7, raw uninsulated, you can feel the lack of interior trim. It makes the incompetence harder to swallow, because when they care it shows

The sounds are exactly what I looks for in a racing game. Close enough lol. No racing game will ever be able to perfectly replicate the sounds cars make because the computing power to do that would be outlandish. As long as they're close enough I'm happy.

There's no individual personality in how each car sounds during shifting. There's also really no exhaust noise. It sounds like it's just engine noise.

@@dielog2211The real reason is they "built from the ground up" lol. Though devs use the recorded sound, the problem is they get highly compressed and synthesized thus cars start to sound not natural, unrealistic and computerized. The mechanical and raw emotion or feels you are supposed to experience through driving, forza always butchers that idk why. For example they never fixed the sound of A80 Supra and R34 Skyline in Horizon 5 despite complaining about it 3-4 times, stating the issue prominently. But 2 years passed and yet they didn't. Same goes for the new FM8, these 2 cars still sound worst. We cannot really let this game have bad reviews all the time as it was released this month, personally I think it has the potential to become better over time, all we have to do is to keep the devs aware of what we want as car sounds are an essential element too for all car enthusiasts out there including me. Thats why we need to post on the community about these 2 cars first so that devs can look into the issue and do a sound update.

Each gen I keep dreaming with finally powerful sounds and always get disappointed with flat sounding effects. Good sound is really with Codemasters sound department and hell even EA before acquiring them also had good sound effects on their Need For Speed series despite the game sucking for so many years and I keep waiting for a proper Underground 3... Other that I definitely can remember is Simbin, they always had a lot of cars with true powerful sounds, in a high power 5.1 speakers it was almost like real life, really miss the good old GTR series, really wish they made a latest visuals with amazing gameplay one with top of the line sound effects bringing the series to 2023.

Turn 10 did well with the recording. The sound just got compressed being transferred from the recording to the game.

Furthermore, the difference in sound is noticeable depending on whether it is heard from inside the car or from outside, since there is a distinction between interior/exterior (as happens in reality, for example with the Lambo Huracan STO, starting at minute 11:55) , which is a very good detail shown in the video.

The sound would be massively improved if they dialed back the highly artificial "echo" or reverb you get even when driving in an open environment. Going through a tunnel is one thing but getting an echo in the middle of VIR is ridiculous. It sounds awful.

You have to understand that the game has 24 car's racing on your TV speakers at the same time... The sound mix for the game has to have tweaks.. Rain, crowds, wind, squelching /search etc for all 24 car's.... Real life you only hear them drive past a camera!

Some of these cars sounded better in old Forza games. Just for example the Lexus LFA in Forza Horizon 5 sounds way better than the one in Forza Motorsport. Which is very weird!? Couldn't they use the same god damn sound??

Some of the cars sound the same inside and in bonnet cam. Even lookin back while driving no more exhaust sound and some does. Its like we will do a 50-50 effort in the sound section. Every car you drive sound different inside and bonnet cam in Gt7 and if you watch back you hear your exhaust more and like in real car you see back seats etc. Forza H5 you really get to hear the differences of car sound, when upgrading. This is like and update for forza 7 not a new game.

when you use manual and clutch and release the clutch before the gear fully engages it sounds like that. i haven't used automatic yet but judging where gang is making his shifts I think he's playing in automatic

Honestly, It's a cool game but nothing mindblowing. Sounds are meh, physics is okayish and graphic isn't impressive either (I was playing on PC in 1440p with all the graphic settings on ultra)

I'm tired of video games missing the mark on sounds. These are easily comparable to FM4. And I don't understand why they can't get auto transmissions right. All that gearshock is unnecessary and annoying. I want an automatic to feel and drive like an automatic if I want it to. Games like BeamNG do it very nicely.

This interior view is fucked. How can we get here after 6 years of development. Take a look at how the hand moves too quickly when there is a gear change. the reflection of the sky on the plastics of the Porsche is ridiculous. whereas in real life the plastic has a satin effect.
