@@anita.b My dad grew up dirt poor in South Florida. He was so poor that 6 kids shared 1 bedroom with no AC. My grandparents were drug addicts and drunks that fought every night. The kids were beaten daily and was always working from sun up to night every day of the week. My dad and uncles stole everything they could to earn cash. He left his life of crime when I was born as I have been told. Years later he injured himself working and got caught up in the pill mills of south Florida, he was wasted all the time and was making a lot of money. He got away with it for more than a few years, but he did get caught. When he walked in to that court room for sentencing, he had been off the opiates for just over a year, he stood up tall and in a very clean strong voice he thanked the judge for his time and gave us hugs. Then we didn't see him for more than a few years. When he came back he was thin and built and scary, but after a few years he became what he was before the drugs but better than that. He told me a bunch of his stories and never once did he blame his parents or anyone else, he always said that he was the maker of all of his worst deeds and mistakes and that is why every time he stood in front of a judge he would stand up tall and thank them for trying to help him. He knew that his own dad was looking up and saying that's my boy. A real man forgives and always stands up tall from failures when he learns from them. My father is a good man but has done some very bad things but through every fall he takes responsibility for his failures. It is not environment that makes people trash it is poor life choices and your academic views that have allowed men to drift away from masculinity and subsequently push men to leave their families causing a rising epidemic of men who are little boys.

It happens again, and again, and escalates into those other crimes you described. You have to enforce the law, even the small stuff (arguably especially the small stuff). A 30-day jail sentence, mandatory therapy and probation is a lot better than letting someone slide into drug-induced psychosis, violence and organized crime. That's not even considering the victims of crime. You have a right to be secure in your person and property. Tolerating petty crime is a betrayal of every law-abiding person in this country, a violation of the social contract between the people and their government.

As a police officer I can't believe neither of these deputies had their radio. That's crazy. Some things are just basic and the ability to communicate with others responding is critical. I'm glad these deputies are OK, but I'm somewhat disappointed in how they handled this to be honest. Also guns and tasers should never be deployed at the same time. When I trained as an FTO, if any of my trainees left the station let alone ran after a suspect without their radio they'd earn a zero for Officer safety that day. So what did the truck do? What a waste! Everyone of these departments could use a small gift …… Boxes of gloves. Officers need to start using them if any thing to protect them from infected blood spill and to protect themselves and there families! They also could use good police leather gloves they keep on there person for barbed wire, climbing walls or throwing down you favorite pert! I did a secret Santa in July one year , bought a case of large and medium gloves dropped them off at a local small station. with just a small note. “Because I care about you and your family’s health! As officers came to work that day, they ignored the boxes/ cases. One young officer even went as far to ignore the note and take the boxes to the dumpster out back, he suddenly stopped…pulled the note ,and got the biggest grin on his face! He open the cases by that time more officers came out and got there share! It was well worth staying hid and to watch these overgrown kids. It was like Christmas. Every patrol car had a box and the extras went inside. I was terrified they would find me out as I had all black on because of the cameras. Call it a game call it what you will, but what a fun thing to do and see! Well worth a vacation day! I think this cockroach knew if he went to prison he would be Bubbas toy, and that’s not a good thing! He would be pretty boy! And of course another great video by “NM BODYCAM . “ Thank you!

Two thoughts on this here. One: It would be great if there was some way to integrate a barbed-wire (and maybe chain link cutter) into cop's standard gear in a way that adds that functionality to something they already carry. like if handcuffs had a wire cutter built into them if you turn them around backwards or whatever. Cops should not have to be restrained by barbed wire fencing like these brave champs right here were. Thought number two, and I guess in hindsight this is kind of obvious... cop says "he just poured gasoline everywhere, I'm going to run up and tase him". Introducing sparks into a space with gas vapors in it could work out very, very badly for everyone... not just igniting the liquid gasoline but also the fumes, which could explode. Maybe the training manuals need an update regarding that scenario. Thanks to the police out there diving head first into this absolute madness. I couldn't do it, not for 5 minutes. Stay safe 🙏

There are ways to get past most barbed wire, we learned techniques during tactical training as we had a lot of it where I patrolled. You can never have too much training. There were a few mistakes made, but still a great job de-escalating the situation as much as they did. Just too bad Abbott the truck.
