I’m so glad they stopped him before he could do worse to more people. Those people inside the restaurant must have been scared out if their minds hearing all that shooting so close by. This guy needs so much help, sitting in a jail cell for a long time will never change him, they’ll just give him free meds to stable him. I only know of one mental hospital that’s a jail but that probably closed down too. If he’s just high on drugs, he does need to sober up, but face the consequences of his actions that could have been deadly.

New Mexico desperately needs to better train their troopers. Troopers are there for a shots fired call & waste time chit chatting with people instead of engaging. Trooper Jara was more concerned with cover/concealment than engaging. To make it worse, Trooper Jara lays down a loaded firearm on a private vehicle instead of using his sling. 🤦🏻

I was in the gray truck thst got shot at I was one of the two victims. And what happened to my friend and I was least to say messed up. We just got off work went to Rudy’s to get a sandwich, ended up not going home like we were supposed to but ended up in the hospital instead with bullet wounds . I didn’t know if my friend was going to live , I didn’t know if I was going to live. Traumatic situation extremely traumatic.

Can not believe that second officer left his rifle on the trunk lid of that car. Good training moment of what to never do. NEVER lay your weapon down and walk away. It has a sling so you keep control of it at all times, unless it goes to another officer or back in your squad. Sling that rifle, then cuff the guy.
