Ive been using Squeegee Off for the last few years, until my local B&Q stopped selling it. Just bought a bottle of Unger Liquid but won't be trying it out until tomorrow on an inside conservatory clean.

#1 for me has to be fairy platinum. Tried them all ( dedicated window cleaning liquids ) and yes they are good but I always end up back in fairy platinum... its nice and cheap, smells nice, good slip and cleans well. I also have that applicator facelift sleeve, again best one I've tried and won't use anything else now. Great vid mate 👍

For those of us here in the States, that would be Dawn dish soap, made in America by Procter & Gamble in West Virginia. I use it daily to clean dishes. It's pretty much the gold standard of dish soap around here, and it's been America's best-selling dish soap since 1973. I've even seen it sold at gas stations lol. But I'm not sure if they sell it in the UK, Ireland, or Scotland.

Hi Trad Man. Trying to find “sample” bottles for holding the washing liquid. Are the ones you use from Amazon? Cheers.
@TradMan Жыл бұрын
I can't remember where I got it to be honest. Think it may have been a sample from a manufacturer.

Tried all the different soaps over the last thirty five years of window cleaning, never lasted more than a few days before going back to Fairy, Fairy liquid original is the best for trad work, Apply less in the winter, or it’s more likely to freeze👍

Greetings.. I have seen in some videos that many professionals add a little ammonia to the solution in addition to the dishwasher... Is it advisable to add Ammonia and what is the effect of this?.. thank you

Hi there, just started watching your vids and have just found out after all these years I'm doing it all wrong lol, was actually looking at how to squeegee a window properly and found out that throwing soapy water at window is all wrong lol, anyway, could you please recommend a reasonable priced squeegee and mop for me, obviously I'm not a business and only want to clean the windows every couple of weeks so don't need the professional stuff you guys use, at the moment I'll probably have to clean every week,also were is the best place to purchase the stuff, I stay up St Andrews and in the country side so with all the farm work going on we seem to get a lot of dust from the fields, I wash my car and within 30 mins it's covered in dust again, hard going, cheers for the advice, much appreciated 👍

A basic unger applicator and unger ergotec squeegee will be perfect. Get it online from either window cleaning warehouse or window clean centre. 😉

Dish soap and a little white vinegar. Thoughts?
@TradMan7 ай бұрын
My question would be why? Dish soap works perfectly on its own, why add vinegar and have smelly solution?

thinking about doing window cleaning because i want to make money and i live in two houses, one is a two story and one is a single story, i can practice on both for different levels of cleaning, where should i get all my equipment from and how can i go door to door when i’m kind of shy and have a low voice
@TradMan2 жыл бұрын
I buy from either window cleaning warehouse or window clean centre normally. If your quite shy, perhaps advertising using pictures and videos of your work via Facebook and Instagram maybe a better choice for you to start with.

Window cleaner resource is my personal go to place. I get a few things other places but I would say 99% of my merchandise I get through WCR. Homes get tricky. It's very important to know how long it will take you for each window and what your market is. Window cleaning resource also has a blog on its website that you can talk to other window cleaners. This is a great source to help you find solutions. But be fore warned that first year of insurance is astronomical. And for a decent setup to handle most situations it will cost you at least two and a half to three grand depending on the quality of equipment you get. Do your homework on the insurance before anything else and don't do work without insurance. I cannot express that enough. If you're going to do it professionally do it professionally and have insurance

@@TradMan oh another way of getting experience in training is to apply to a window cleaning company that's willing to train you. Working one summer will teach you enough that you would be able to go and do a home. Generally homes you want to do with two people but you can do a home by yourself. There are a lot of tricks of the trade that you will only learn from another window cleaner. And explaining it over a blog or email is impossible

What's the best method in your opinion for priming the applicator for indoor windows? Should you pull back on the saturation and/or amount of dish soap or approach it the same way but use towels to protect the flooring? Actually your video is indoors here but should you really saturate the applicator? Thanks in advance. Love your channel. Keep up the great work. ✊
