I wanted to share that if you only have 8 1/2x11 paper and you want to use it for the base of this card just cut your paper at 5 1/2x11 - 2 sheets. Score them were you are supposed to except for the 11 score mark cause that would be the end of your paper and then cut a piece 2 x 5 1/2 and score it at one inch and stick it to attach your two papers and voila you have your card base

Very clever new card design! I enjoyed watching your thought process as you made decisions about each panel. I think this style has lots of possibilities for various uses. First, thank you Jan for these demonstrations as I always love your precise explanations for the unique cards you design. However, my cutting plates warp so badly that I go through them often and noticed your plates have been used quite a bit yet are flat. How in the world do you keep your cutting plates flat? What is your 'secret'? Also, we make A2 SU! cards in the US. Do you know the conversion numbers from A4? My best, Cyndy in Virginia Beach, VA, USA

Hi, Cynthia. I'm not sure I do anything special except I use separate plates when I use my Precision Base Plate. My daily plates get turned over and from top to bottom all the time; I think that's what helps to keep them flat. No I don't know the conversion numbers, but they must be available somewhere I would have thought?? This is how we compare, though! I think your Letter Size is 8.5" by 11", and our A4 is 8.25" x 11.59". So your card base is 5.5" x 4.25" (A2) and I cut my cardstock so my cards are 5.75" x 4 1/8" which is almost A6. Our SU envelopes measure 6 3/8" x 4.5". Here in the UK, our paper sizes start at A1 and go down to at least A7 - I don't know if they go further. The interest bit is that A2 is half of A1; A3 is half of A2; A4 is half of A3; and so on. So our A2 measures 4 x A4 sheets. Still with me? LOL! How do you arrive at your A2 size? Happy crafting! Hi, Theresa. Yes, I love my filing system. I do find the magnet sheets are very flimsy but I adhere a 7" x 7.25" white card (from the back of the packets of Designer Series Paper on the back. Next I do a die-cut of each shape and adhere them on the back. Please check out my short video no. 273 Die Storage & Numbering. The name of the company that makes mine is Docrafts Papermania.
