Jan, I have to say, I watch many presenters on KZbin. In my working career, I did a lot of facilitating myself. I find you are one of the best if not the best presenter I watch. You are very organized, precise and clear. I find you have a facility to anticipate the problems one might have and present a solution to them. Hats off to you!!

I love this card.......first off, I don't think you mumble - in fact, you are one of the only people I watch that speak clearly and precisely and I never have trouble understanding what you say. Also, I'm just getting back into watching videos. I lost my desire to watch and still haven't gotten back my desire to craft since I lost my Dad on August 2nd. He passed away on my birthday and I've had a hard time getting myself back into my normal routine. Dad was 92 and had been having health issues for awhile now. He has been wanting to go and meet his Lord and those gone before, and even though I thought I was ready, apparently, I was not as prepared as I thought I would be. I miss him terribly, but so thankful he is not suffering anymore. Thank you for your videos - I always enjoy them and your voice is very relaxing and soothing AND very informative. I could watch you all day. I LOVE the lighthouse card you did as well! Hugs!

I think what you were seeing when you thought it was crooked was the sentiment on the inside, because it is not a straight sentiment and the letters are all over the place it is hard to see it straight. Beautiful card Jan. Also i cannot wait to see your wedding rings. I am so happy for you and your hubby.
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Julie. Someone else said something very similar. When I had a look after I'd finished videoing, I agree with you, it didn't look crooked then! xx

The technique of painting the magnolias white is whitewash...using Stampin Up white ink with a water brush versus the bleaching technique you initially tried. I used a makeup brush to apply white ink to craft card stock for a similar effect - really beautiful cards.

I’m a newbie card maker so I really appreciate that you show all the oops..that’s how we learn.....I have one recommendation...a tool that is a must for all card and collage artists. The EK tools craft tweezers.....they do the gripping so you don’t have too.....mraz
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Arlene. I have a pair of those tweezers - I call them reverse tweezers! LOL! I use them for holding projects when I'm doing heat embossing, and they're fantastic. I've tried using them for other jobs, but I just can't make the transition. It's probably because I've been using my regular tweezers for long now, that I just can't change. Many thanks for your suggestion, xx

Many thanks, Lynn. I agree that I would have needed to use extra adhesive - glue dots or Tombow - for the pearls if I'd used the embossed piece. I'm really pleased how my card turned out, but I wish I had used the embossed piece to see what it would have looked like! xx

Lovely card Jan,I really like that paper. Here's a thought ,instead of struggling to line up the inside piece why not make a template the same size as the back of the card and cut a rectangle out the same size of the piece you want to glue in the centre,just place the template on top and glue your piece in the middle of it. :) I hope that makes sense lol
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Tracy. Yes, that makes a lot of sense, and you've made me take it a step further! That is, maybe it'd work if the inside is glued in place first. Then close the card, mark where the glue should go, and then line up with the inside layer! We make a great team! xxx

@@janbcards just thought that is what it might be. Or the light pink pencil. Didn't think it was bleached. Too many shades.
@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
@@alanlangler With hindsight, yes I can see there are too many shades for bleach. There were two things that made me think bleach. First was that the surface of the Crumb Cake CS was rougher where the white area is, and second is that the colour on the gold embossing is very dull, in and around the white. I'm certainly going to give your suggestion a try because, even if it isn't what Jo used for her swap, it'll work for sure! xx

@janbcards5 жыл бұрын
Many thanks, Donna. I've never thought about doing a video of a catalogue "walk-through". Thinking about it now, I wouldn't do a Christmas Catalogue walk-through because, here in the UK Halloween isn't such a big thing here, and we don't celebrate Fall in the same way as the US do. I'm happy to change in time for the new Spring/Summer catalogue. Many thanks for your suggestion. JanB xx.
