Your hair sounds fantastic. I'm 52 and I dye my hair to suit the season, so at the moment I'm trying to get back to blonde from a very deep red, I shall then add some nice pastel pink streaks. I too wear bright eyeshadows, purple, blue, green etc, and I always wear a shimmer too, which us over 50's are not supposed to do 🤣

Hi Robert! 👋👋 I can't stand it when people tell me to "tone down" my makeup look and "act my age"! I'm almost 52, and I love using the blackest black eyeshadows with either bright red, royal purple, electric blue or a dark ( but bright) green eyeshadow! And I normally use dark green or slime green lipstick with black lipstick over the top of it!! I don't care what other people think - my partner likes my makeup look, as do my friends. But most importantly, I love it, and that's all that matters!!

Because it feels real since there none of the artificial light which can make videos feel very overproduced. It’s why a lot of skincare adverts will try to limit the artificial light-look while they try to sell you a product, filters and all

It’s ridiculous how much the natural light view helped me see where I’m going wrong with shadow. I think I couldn’t differentiate the tone and texture as well with ring lighting. I know it’s not feasible to use natural light all the time, but this was a great idea.

I think ring lighting tends to be pretty cool, as well as focused, which isn't how real world lighting (artificial or natural) hits you.

It helps to find the red that works for you, too. Cooler reds just don't look good on me, and neither do ones that are too orange. A little lean towards brown is my holy grail.

Finally!!! Someone is saying what I’ve been screaming for 15 years. Ever since I turned 35 everyone started telling me “oh don’t you think you’re too old for that look?” NOPE!!! If I wanna do a sparkly glitter covered cut crease with graphic liner all over I will!!! I always put shadow on the bottom of my eyes it looks incomplete if I don’t!!! Thanks for saying this Robert

I actually think a smoked out bottom lash line can be really effective, especially for hooded eyes. My mum has a heavy hood and makeup is always hidden above the top lash line, so I always give a bit more drama on the lower lash line instead

Now about you Robert, you look beautiful, thank you for doing today's GRWM in natural light because when I was make-up videos in the back of my mind is that thought.. but it's all in the lighting of course everything looks great. Now me 😢, when I was younger (I wasn't an ugly girl by any means) but I was self conscious about myself. Although a size 6/8 at 5'2" I never saw in the mirror what others saw. My mindset was fun and colourful with fashion ideas different to everyone else, but I was always worried about what others would think, so I always kept things neutral and the same boring clothing. Now I'm 52 and couldn't give a flying f**k, I feel like I wasted my personality for so many years. So.... thank you Robert because I'm sure you make many a person feel good about themselves ❤

I am so glad you mentioned necks. Younger people, it is never too soon to moisturize your neck, regardless of face oil or dryness. All the time I see people my age who have a great face and skincare routine, then their necks look like dehydrated crepe 😔 If you are over 50 (me 😌) you know how important moisturizing your neck is!

When I was a teen I only used tubing mascara. Honestly, I had no ideea what skincare was at that time and I am so happy I used a mascara that was so easy to take off with only water.

Hey Robert, thank you for making this video! It's really cool to see your results in natural lighting and I always learn so much from you. Also love to see you incorporating more skin care into your makeup!! I'm 45 and I really, really miss feeling like I could wear darker lip colors, or really anything besides neutral. I feel like anything remotely darker just enhances the smile and frown lines around my lips. And I'm working hard to evolve my own internalized ageism, but it's not easy!! Beautiful Robert, at my age (6 months till pension lol!) Natural light makeup is all I'm interested in. If I can't wear it outside in daylight, it isnt going to be part of my collection. I was just telling someone how I like having my own palette with products I love and use on the daily. Its super handy only having to unpack one item that has everything I use (except of course mascara and pencils) its easy to take on breaks and I can update or refill as and when I find other items I like. I have so little counter space, the double compartment product is a brilliant idea!
