I just pour my mixture into an 8x8 parchment lined dish,let it cool completely, then cut it into 1x1 inch squares. So much easier then dropping by spoon fulls!

I watched Mama Joyce for years and was also watching through her illness. She was such a witness for the Lord and I know she is in Heaven now. It was so nice of you to talk about her and her recipe. Her son Marshall has a channel now and I hope he sees your video. I know it would warm his heart. ☺️ I am going to try to make these again. Our grand kids will love them. You and your wife are a great team. ❤

I too gave up on making these dark evil mounds of sugar. 50+ years I tried. I was FINALLY able to make them when I saw a youtuber make some with a THERMOMETER!!! 230° is the sweet spot. Hallelujah! I finally made a perfect batch of no bake cookies 2 months ago!! Someone earlier mentioned putting them in a pan and cutting them. I'll try it that way next. Thanks for the video!

I have made these for over 50 years. I do leave out the peanut butter (for those with allergies). Sometimes I add a little coconut. Really good. I always loved watching mama Joyce. And loved how she shared Jesus.

I also try to make them without peanut butter. Mine usually fail and i have to make a second batch to get it right. I dont make them often enough to remember how to get it right the first time. I’ve written down what i do but always second guess myself. Can you tell me how long you boil the mixture before you add the oatmeal?
@jesusknowsmethisilov
@jesusknowsmethisilov 10 ай бұрын
Ps… i do know that if you add the peanut butter you don’t have to cook them as long. I’ve never beat the mixture either, that’s another consideration. Any advice would be appreciated.

I was born in 1952, me, my Mom and her niece went to the State Fair of Texas together when I was 6 years old. I remember sitting on a grassy area called the Esplanade. We made these cookies to take with us to enjoy. Then, I made these and won a first place ribbon for these in 4th grade for 4-H. Such good memories. I'm enjoying your videos.

I too made these cookies years ago as a teenager and we loved them! Since I love raisins I would scoop the majority of the cookies onto parchment paper without raisins, then to the remaining cookies still in the saucepan I sprinkled in a few raisins and proceeded to scoop those out. Let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good oatmeal raisin cookie? Raisin haters can still get their cookies from the first scoops . Tom and Melissa thank you very much for all your hard work, your growing subscribers prove that you are doing all the right things. Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas. God Bless you❤️❤️

To make sure the cookies don't come out crumbly you add a little brown sugar to replace the equivalent whute sugar. Just a fourth cup of brown instead of that measurement of white sugar. It makes them so good.

SAME. SO FUNNY 😂😂😂😂 ROFL!!!! I've just started to get it right. Two minutes is the trick! You can even add more pb, and I think I even use 3c of oats, but nothing matters as much as the 2minute boil.

❤❤❤❤ Hi Tom and Melissa. Tom I'm with you on the failing of these cookies. I made them 45 years ago and they came out great. Since then I tried and tried. Either they became frosting, ice cream topping or crunch for a coffee cake. Yes, at times we ate it with a spoon. I gave up on this about 5 years ago. Last year I was recovering from Total hip Replacement and Broken Femur 5 weeks after the replacement. Last year I was wheel chair bound for almost 5 months. I'm now 71. This recipe showed up in my feed over the weekend. I tried the recipe with your strict instructions for 2 minutes no more no less today 12.13.23. OH MY GOSH! Perfect. I was so happy. I made 2 batches one without coconut and 1 with coconut. Then a 3rd batch with Monk Fruit and Erythritol for myself. I always used a candy thermometer. Watching the change in color was Cats Meow. Thank you so much. My kids will be so happy. They are all grown 47. 42, and soon to be 40. They know the struggle Happy Day for success in conquering this demon. Even more special my 3rd Great Granddaughter was born 2 weeks early by C-section. She is a healthy 6lbs 5oz and 19 inches bundle of joy. Kambrie Louise is #12. I've been binge watching your channel. Last year was hard for me. I'm walking better with a cane. Able to maneuver around the kitchen much better. Looking forward to trying other recipes of yours. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 to both of you.

I’ve been making these for at least 40 years. I don’t cook mine as long and use a half cup peanut butter. I learned years ago that one of the keys to making these is to always use the same pan. The thickness of the pan makes a difference in how long to cook them. My mom could never make them turn out either and she was a great cook. Great cookies with a big glass of milk!

Made these most of my life as well as family & friends. Just a couple of differences. Never sifted dry ingredients. Always used 3 cups oats. My sister-in-law used to add a tablespoon of marshmallow fluff. So creamy. Also the rolling boil was for one minute but never strictly adhered to that. Your cookies are beautiful. Well done!😀 Oh also you can leave out the cocoa & make peanut butter cookies.

One of our faves of all time! I used to make this for my fam when I was a kid. And later for my daughter and grandkids. So glad I caught this because I had kind of forgotten with all the stuff going on everywhere. We don't have a working furnace now so using space heaters. But I luckily have the stuff for this and pumpkin things. I'll eat it myself if no ones here lol. Grandchildren are running all over for the holidays. I can't do that anymore sadly. Thank you! I hope your holidays are lovely and safe. And warm🙏🏼🎄🍪💚❤️🤍💌

Well, Tom and Melissa, these cookies look spectacular and delicious. After I try all of these 12 days of Christmas recipes, maybe you could create a 24 day exercise program we could follow for January. I have a feeling I am going to need it. 😊 I hope you two have a great night, and I look forward to your next video.

Hi Tom, I'm sure enjoying your recipes. I've made these cookies for years. Sometimes I make peanut butter no bake just by leaving out the cocoa. Merry Christmas to you Melissa!

Thank you for your comment. I wondered if I could leave out the cocoa since I’m allergic to it.

Now you made me craving these, so while watching this video I started preparing batch for me and my wife Kathy. These are simple classics and I too have had past experiences when they would not set up. My recipe said to boil for one full minute. Merry Christmas Tom & Melissa.

Oh. My. Goodness. I'm 63 and this is my FAVORITE cookie. I have attempted to make these only four times in my life and FAILED miserably each time. Had to eat each batch with a spoon. I feel so much better hearing your introduction. I am going to try this recipe once more using your video & Mama Joyce's recipe. I'll let you know what happens. God bless.

These are my all-time favorite cookie! My adult children & grands love them as well. Years ago, I couldn't get them to set either, but I kept adjusting the recipe and the time. They have been turning out perfectly now for many many years. My recipe is different than yours but I'm sure yours is delicious also. My recipe uses 2 1/2 c oats, 2 tsps vanilla, and 1/2 c peanut butter. Everything else is the same. Thanks for sharing your recipes. Love your channel.❤️

I adore these cookies, but when we lived in the California desert, I went without, because I could never make them without them turning dry and crumbly. Have not had any trouble with them since moving to Missouri, and that makes me very happy. 🙂

Seriously I too gave up on this cookie for all the same reasons you did. I would become so frustrated. Attempted 3 times and then said nope no more. I will try these again. Loving your channel.

You are so right, if they’re made right, they will get firm while they are still warm. So glad you learned what you were doing wrong. It’s very frustrating to go to all that time & effort & then end up with a disappointing results. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Cast iron Skillet. Boil for Exactly 2 min. Stir the Whole Time. Works Better on a Gas Stove. Been cooking/Baking These for 25 yrs. They Can Be Such A Pain To Make. The Full Rolling Boil is A Must or They Will Not Set. That Exaclty 2 min Full Rolling Boil is Exactly How it Has To Be. Have Your Tin Foil/Wax Paper Laid out and Ready. Peanut Butter and Oats Stir Fast and Get them on The Paper/Foil. The Quick Oats Work Better. I Use Pretty Much The Exact Same Recipre That you Guys are Using Today. So Good. These are and Always Have Been My Favorite Cookies. 😊`😋`

Thank you Tom and Melissa I love these cookies but have never made them but have eaten them msny times ! I’ve always been afraid I’d waste ingredients because they harden so fast and I have such a hard time with my hands not opening and closing well because of joint problems I’ve had since my late 20’s ! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
